Summary Chapter 43

Jim is released. He tends to Tom while he is recovering. Tom gives him forty dollars.

Huck assumes his father got his money and drank it up. Jim tells Huck that the man in the floating frame house they had found shot to death was Huck's father. Tom tells Huck he still has his money.

Aunt Sally plans to adopt and civilize Huck. He has been through this before and can’t stand it.
