One of the guys at my work recently showed me a video from his phone of a "UFO" he'd recorded while heading home.

I don't think I've seen one myself though.

Do you believe in extraterrestrial life?

amarna
07-05-2009, 03:38 PM
At least in bacteria and microbes, but I'm not sure about multicellular organisms.

Do you believe in UFOs?

Scheherazade
07-05-2009, 06:48 PM
Yes but I hear they don't believe me!

Today was good because...

kingoflombards
07-06-2009, 12:43 AM
...I joined an awesome youth group.

Do you like roller coasters?

Mathor
07-06-2009, 12:55 AM
Yes, I love em.

What do you have planned for tomorrow?

kingoflombards
07-06-2009, 01:02 AM
House work :(

And you?

a_little_wisp
07-06-2009, 05:53 AM
Wake up early (completed) and go for a swim (not yet) come home, eat breakfast, tidy things up, head to work at 2:00, pick best friend up at 10:00, likely fall asleep on her at 12:00.

Ever fallen out of bed in your sleep before?

The Comedian
07-06-2009, 10:17 AM
Yeah -- out of the top bunk once when I as a kid. I dreamed that I was falling. . . .such truths our dreams reveal.

Should I "to to heaven or a'fishing" (to quote Thoreau)

PoeticPassions
07-06-2009, 10:30 AM
why not both?

Is love eternal?

Nikhar
07-06-2009, 10:37 AM
If you get it, yeah.:D

You'd continue to love someone if you found out nthat he/she loves someone else.

The Comedian
07-06-2009, 10:53 AM
Of course, but I would be beset with a host of new emotions: jealousy, self-doubt, anger. . . .

Have you gone swimming lately?

PoeticPassions
07-07-2009, 08:50 AM
at a pool, yes. Perhaps in the last week or two...

Have you been on a boat lately?

Scheherazade
07-07-2009, 10:06 AM
It has been about 12 years since I was on a boat (unless you count couple of ferry rides).

Is it OK to have a BBQ on a rainy day?

papayahed
07-07-2009, 01:40 PM
Yes!

Have you ever worn steel toe shoes?

TurquoiseSunset
07-07-2009, 01:46 PM
Nope, not my style at all, so I'd look really silly :D

Do you own any music with lyrics in a foreign language? What?

papayahed
07-07-2009, 01:49 PM
Yes. I downloaded ABBA in spanish hoping it would help me to learn.

Have you ever eaten too much of something and it made you sick?

TurquoiseSunset
07-07-2009, 01:54 PM
Ugh, yes, I ate a gigantic bowl of mushroom soup once, but I was too polite to stop when I was full. So I ended up running to the bathroom the whole night. Some of the soup went through my nose and for the next two days everything smelt like mushroom soup...not something you want to smell when it's made you sick...:sick::sick:

Same?

mono
07-07-2009, 05:48 PM
Yes, but not for many years, before my vegetarian days, with seafood.

Do you donate regularly to any charities? If not, what do you think you would ever consider donating to, such as Green Peace, OSPIRG, Children International, etc.?

The Walker
07-07-2009, 08:08 PM
No I havent. But i think I will when I have my own money. I would donate to some foundation for children in the world.

Same?

kiz_paws
07-07-2009, 08:15 PM
Well, I donate to Childfind Canada, to the local Humane Society, to a no-kill animal shelter, as well as to two separate soup kitchens that we have here. I also donate time to playing piano at a nursing home.

Good question, I'll pass it on to you, next poster.

mono
07-08-2009, 02:58 AM
I donate to various environmental organizations, both local and international, and have a sponsored child in India. Additionally, I might as well call myself a regular, but unofficial, donater to homeless organizations in the Portland metropolitan area, at least on a person-by-person basis. :D

Do you think you could survive at least somewhat comfortably on minimum wage?

papayahed
07-08-2009, 07:22 AM
I don't think I could, but if it was necessary I could probably do it for a bit.

If you know you are going to have bad day do you do anything different to prepare for it?

SilentRain
07-08-2009, 09:30 AM

PoeticPassions
07-08-2009, 09:36 AM

The Comedian
07-08-2009, 10:19 AM
Yeah, sometimes.

What time of day is your mind most alert and creative?

PoeticPassions
07-08-2009, 10:40 AM
I would say in the morning. About an hour or two after waking.

Yours?

The Comedian
07-08-2009, 10:56 AM
The same, actually. . .with late night being my worst time for alertness and creativity.

Do you enjoy looking at maps?

PoeticPassions
07-08-2009, 10:58 AM
Yes, I love it. Sometimes I just do that for fun... Atlases are wonderful.

If you could go to any other country right now for a visit, where would you go?

The Comedian
07-08-2009, 11:12 AM
Wow, tough question. I just finished a book that discussed, partly, hiking the Alps in Bavaria, so right now, I'd go there to hike and walk the countryside (I generally avoid cities, when I travel. . . with some exceptions, of course).

When traveling, do you prefer cities or countrysides/rural places?

farnoosh
07-08-2009, 11:20 AM
i would love to go to paris ,but at this moment i would want to go to L.A and see the hero of my dreams( Michael Jackson)

Did you ever spend a couple of days in the wilderness without seeing other people? If not, would you like to?

mono
07-08-2009, 02:32 PM
I never have, in total seclusion, anyway, but I suppose it would seem worth the experience to go Salinger-style, if I had the time, yet only temporarily.

Same question.

The Walker
07-08-2009, 04:23 PM
I havent but I would like to do so very much..but for only two days :D

Beautifull
07-08-2009, 10:48 PM

Beautifull
07-09-2009, 08:28 PM
ummm...if i had to pick, it'd be music lover, because i can listen to all kinds of things while being a musician, you're limited to what you can play, and you don't even have to like music to be a musician.

would you give up a hundred dollars to start a band?
(though it might cost more)

mono
07-09-2009, 11:29 PM
I have certainly given up more, monetary and non-monetary-wise, in the past - not worth it, and now I have originally written songs that I can hardly claim, due to copyrighting by another member of the former band. Creativity wasted. :(

If you could start a musical group, what genre of music would you fit into, and what instrument(s) would you play?

The Walker
07-09-2009, 11:37 PM
it would be indie or alternative...and i would like to play the bass or the guitar but i never liked how women look playing the guitar so..i rather sing hehe

what do you prefer to procratinate or avoid?

Mathor
07-10-2009, 12:46 AM
Procrastinate.

Same question.

Beautifull
07-10-2009, 12:56 AM

are you a writer?

Mathor
07-10-2009, 01:29 AM
Yes. I try.

Are you a musician?

PoeticPassions
07-10-2009, 03:32 AM

Would you ever ask a man to take his wife's last name in marriage?

AdoreroDio
07-27-2009, 07:08 PM
Never. Unless his last name was something he would want to change. I mean if your name was Poophole or Wourthles or something people make fun of then sure, why not. But I think the woman in most cases should take on her husbands name as a sign of respect. I'll take my husband's, but that is also because my name is impossible to spell as a child in school and I plan on having many children. It would be cruel to give them my last name. :]

Definitely tidal waves or flash floods. I have encountered one flash flood years ago, during my first and only trip to Las Vegas, Nevada, and found it quite unsettling; allegedly a few people did not survive, and several got injured - nothing really makes me want to visit Sin City again, and that freak storm topped it off. :p
Then again, living immediately within the Ring of Fire, around a few active volcanoes, kind of disturbs me, too. For one, I can see Mt. St. Helens from my apartment building, peakless from its very dramatic 1980 eruption - a bit of a scary reminder.
