What was your worst physical injury and how did it happen?
Silas Thorne
04-06-2009, 04:46 AM
I broke my arm twice.
The first time was when I was young and I had rollerskates. My brother and I set up a ramp with bricks and a flat wooden board. My brother pushed me off, and I had originally planned to jump, but bailed at the last minute, stumbled and then part of my arm hit a brick, the other part hit the concrete.
The second was when I was in a wrestling class against someone much bigger and heavier than I was. I put my arm out to stop my fall and it locked straight, I heard a pop. I stopped instantly and lay on the floor, and then drove home, but it was quite hard to change gears. I didn't actually realise it was broken until the next day.

What would a trees voice sound like, if you couldn't describe it with wooden adjectives?
a_little_wisp
04-09-2009, 02:11 PM
Well, for one, they would take a very long time deciding what it is they were going to say. After their deep, deep pondering they would then speak, low and rich, and their voices - depending on the age and type of the tree - would likely be creaky, deep and full of a wisdom we as humans will never be able to grasp, because trees are listening creatures. It would be loud, of course, and likely shake us to the center of our beings. The smaller, more youthful trees would speak in whisper-like tones, but their words would be interrupted by breezy little giggles and sighs. It would take any tree a good long while to finish a whole sentence.
