I seriously can't remember

What do you usually do on weekends?

Bakiryu
04-08-2007, 08:50 PM
Read or do housework.

What was the first book you ever owned?

Shalot
04-08-2007, 09:36 PM
Do you mean children's books or "real" books? Because if you mean the first actual book I owned, counting children's books and the more advanced books, then I would have to say that I don't have the first clue.

Did your mom dad or guardian read books to you before bed (when you were a child) and what was your favorite?

Bakiryu
04-08-2007, 09:46 PM
I'm still a child! (Well at least a teenager *laughts*)

My dad read to me Gulliver's Travels and I loved it. (Until i read the real book that is and people started talking about the hidden meanings on it, that kinda ruined it for me.)

What do you think about bannapples?

kiz_paws
04-09-2007, 11:56 PM
There is a ball, lots of legs kicking, fancy sox and special shoes with pokes on the bottoms for grips.... does that describe it? **I am not a rugby expert, neither...**

A twist on Niamh's question: Have you ever dipped MacDonald's fries into mayonaisse?

Redzeppelin

Amorphous
04-10-2007, 12:57 AM
Not nearly as much as some of the people I know (the type that let the gas of a lighter off in their cupped hand for a while to let it build up, then ignite it and open their hand quickly for a "fireball" effect). I like bonfires/pit fires/fireplace fires a lot though.

Aww id love to pick Bugs as well, he's so witty! He might be a bit of a partier though....so probably Droppy Dog. He's delightfully droll.

If you could pick any you like, what Shakespeare role would you play?

kiz_paws

If you could spend one night in any city of the world, which city would you choose? (all expense paid one night get-away)

Madhuri
04-11-2007, 02:44 AM
I have been outside of India only once (for four days), its a tough choice for a person like me who would want to go every place whenever there's a chance.

Hmmm....but if I have to choose, it will probably be somplace in Egypt. I dont know why, maybe because I see there is some program on Discovery every now and then, or something else, not sure. I think for now it will be some place in Egypt.

What is your favourite cusine (sp?) and why?

Maybe Italian because i love the medditeranean diet, nice concentration on legumes.

How much exercise do you do? Do you enjoy it?

Madhuri
04-11-2007, 01:59 PM
Yes, I usually go for swimming, and I enjoy it also. For how much -- The pools here are not open in winters, I dont do much exercise that time, and mostly I dont feel good and am lazy. Exercising keeps my mood up and I feel energetic.

Do you like talking to someone on the phone or in person?

Domer121
04-11-2007, 02:02 PM
In person, that way I can read their face and get a better understanding of what they are thinking, though I am almost always wrong....

Do you like to have some type of drama going on in your life at every moment or do you like to keep things quiet and peaceful?

kandaurov
04-11-2007, 02:02 PM
I hate talking on the phone. In person is way better. Hell, even Messenger is better than phone. Just a small complex of mine :p

Actually, good question, Madhuri. Person below me, do you like talking on the phone?

kandaurov
04-11-2007, 02:05 PM
this keeps happening to me!

Quiet. I'm a quiet guy. Very interesting question you came up with, though!

So. Let's combine both of the questions asked. Would you break up with someone on the phone?

Domer121

Madhuri

In this particular case only, if I see the person I wont be able to do it. So, in all probability I will do it on the phone. But, its not a good way.

Edit -- I dont have a spine I guess. I shouldn't be involved, you are right Pen

Pen's reply -- No, I usually am nice with people, and can keep my temper in check.

What would be your ideal house and why?

Shalot
04-11-2007, 10:44 PM
My ideal house would have to be on a plot of land that collects a lot of sunlight. The indoors would be painted white (or some other bright color). The trim and doors would be white. The carpet would be white. Everything would be bright and white. It would also have a downstairs dark room for the days when the bright white bugs me (and that wouldn't be often). The yard would be level (I don't want any hassles with mowing). The house would be on a dead-end road so that there wouldn't be much traffic.

The kitchen would be large, with a window, a pantry, and a place for a small table.

There would be a formal dining room. There would be a garage and rec room. There would be at least two bathrooms (in case one was broken). The number of bedrooms I had would depend on the number of kids I had.

The neighborhood would be relatively safe and just a few minutes from work.

I don't ask for much, do I? :D

If you could be the president/Prime Minister of any country which would it be?

Adolescent09
04-11-2007, 11:53 PM
America. Unequivocally America. Anyone would suffice as president besides this strong-willed hypocrite who is in control of the white house... Until '08 that is. Why aren't Nancy Peloski and the other Democrats who constitute majority leadership in the senate and house, doing anything? :( Cutting military funding doesn't entirely neutralize this idiot's power..

If you were not limited to mantaining a healthy diet and all provisions provided a substantial quantity of supplimentary nutrients and vitamins which foods would you gorge on?

What is Santa's part-time job, when his business is slow (like in every month except for December)?

Have you ever cut a "friend" out of your life and if so why?

kiz_paws
04-15-2007, 10:50 AM
I had to subtly and slowly get someone out of my life because they kept updating me as to what my ex-boyfriend was/is doing and all about him, even after I married my husband. She still tries, on the rare occasion we see one another, to catch my ear and tell me ALL ABOUT xxxxx. Shalot

If you're asking what I think you are it's this:

1) Type this: [quote]

2) paste whatever you want to show up as a quote and then type the word quote between brackets again, but put a slash in front of the word "quote" between the brackets to indicate it's the end of the quote [/]

Was that clear at all?

What is your favorite dish to cook for yourself?

Hmm, to cook for myself? I usually think cooking for others is a great part of the fun.
Coming home alone and making myself some wholegrain pasta with seaweed, veggies and beans is always a comfort. With that dish I can just throw whatever ingredients I want in without people complaining about "too many vegetables" or the "suspicious look of seaweed" and I can enjoy it for what it is and that i had fun making it. No worries about aesthetics or suiting it to others taste.

COOK!?!? FOR MYSELF!?!? Are you nuts? I'm a disaster in the kitchen!

Can't consider it cooking, but I make some fairly awesome "Dagwood" Sandwiches; and they are my most loved "comfort food". It may not require cooking, but there really is an art to it...taste is just one aspect...arranging the ingredients in a stable fashion is another. Even the best of sandwiches is no good if 3/4 of it squishes out into your lap during the first bite.

Not much of anything. These diet pills really do it for me. I hope I don't have a stroke or a heart attack though.

What are/were your plans for today?

I returned some overalls that didn't fit and were strangely made. I filled up the gas tank and washed the truck. I am currently studying for a test and I got tired so I am going to loaf around here for a few minutes and then I will fold towels, get the work clothes ready for the week, change the sheets, run the vacuum, put the towels away and go back to studying. How fun is my life?

The most romantic gesture I ever experienced was when my hubby asked me to marry him. On a beautiful Sunday afternoon, we hiked to the top of a mountain that overlooked the city, and at the summit he popped the question. He would have gotten down on one knee, but a mound of busy fire ants was close by. I preferred him unstung and uncrippled--especially since we still had to hike down--so I let him off the hook.

Well, the sweetest thing that ever occured was when the love of my life had these teeny photographs especially made to fit into a locket shaped like a heart (made of pure silver). The locket is only half an inch, if that, so these are teeeeeny pics. One side is him, and one side is me, and when I got that gift, of course one must try the hinge to see if the locket opens up easily, and in it I saw these pics and it was very very sweet. I was deeply touched by this, I must say.

Today I went to the mall looking for shoes, I found a brown pair but forgot to pick up a map.

What was the last piece of music you heard that absolutely knocked your socks off?

*mine was Shostakovich's 8th symphony the other evening, and right before that it was a Schumann cello concerto w. a fantastic German soloist. He had the music memorized, and it was a beautiful piece. Sehr impressive.*

Do you think there is life on other planets and why?

The Bookinator
05-07-2007, 08:33 PM
Yeah, why not? I think its rather egotistical of us to think we were the ONLY life to form in the entire universe. I'm not saying I buy into "I Married An Alien" tabloid stories, but its hard to think Earth is the only one on which organisms can survive. Maybe not in this solar system, but somewhere out there. Who knows?

I think there is. Or least I hope there is. But of course I can't say with any certainty. I hope humankind is not all that is. Hopefully there is life out there and hopefully they are more advanced and their intentions toward us, if they ever become aware of our presence (if they haven't already), are only good.

Yes, Statistically I think it would be wierd if of all the planets in all the solar systems in the universe apart from this one rock didnt have any life on it. That said I doubt they are anything like us, and I really doubt they are paying visits to us

Actually, I have been considering writing a whole vegan cookbook. Everyone seems to think we only eat tofu and lettuce, but I would like to prove them delicious (as opposed to "prove them wrong"!).

Hmmm, maybe I will get onto this soon. I could make it half cookbook, half autobiography maybe?

That's a great idea, I bought my friend a cookbook a few years ago, it was an italian cookbook but intersprursed (sp?) in the recipes were mob stories, it was really cute.
