If you could build a house anywhere in the world where would it be and what style would you build?

Shalot
06-12-2009, 11:14 PM
Folk Victorian sort of inland in South Carolina but not too far from the beach. It'd have to be far from the road with some mossy trees lining the driveway, which would be sort of longish. But at least one side of the house would have to get some sun, because a dark house is depressing. Gotta have some sunshine. And there'd have to be a front porch swing.

What exactly did you mean/have in mind?

Do you consider spending your entire evening on forums just as bad as watching t.v.?
And why?

I do cause it's fun!

Oh, and some clarification for my last question, I meant what was if you were to turn a calculator upside down, what would you spell?

mono
06-13-2009, 11:58 PM
I use calculators for calculating.

What medium would you prefer your portrait painted/sculpted, whether acrylics, oils, clay, graphite, marble, charcoal, etc.?

Charcoal! Charcoal is a beautiful medium.

Nope :) I think it may be in my to read pile.

What did you eat at your last meal?

The Comedian
06-14-2009, 08:32 PM
Some grilled sausage, left-over garlic bread, and some spinach.

Have you ever gone fishin' at night? (if not, man, you should!)

Yes I have :)

Have you ever ridden a camel?

The Comedian

If you could write an article that was to be published in the NY TIMES, in the op-ed secion, what issue or event or whatnot would you write about?

The Comedian
06-15-2009, 08:59 AM
Good Question -- I'd write about how the game of *shudders* golf is one of, if not the greatest moral and environmental atrocity the world faces today and that if we were to rid the world of this singular pestilence, we'd all live in a cleaner, nicer, more honest world. Down with golf! Down with golf!

This question is so good, let's do it again!

PoeticPassions
06-15-2009, 09:26 AM
haha, great response, Comedian. I agree with you on the golf thing. It is such a waste and a destruction of habitats and land that could be used for so many other important things.

My answer would be: to write about how economic sanctions almost never work (they don't achieve much except hostility and poverty) and that sanctioning N. Korea will only make things worse. Diplomacy and economic incentives are a better alternative. (is this too political of an answer? mods you can delete it, or I can edit it to not pertain to current events?? hope it is ok though!)

If you could write for any newspaper in the world, which one would you write for and why?

How many pages have you read today so far (actual reading, not internet)?

The Comedian
06-15-2009, 08:22 PM

Good question, let's do it again!

What's the best way to open a coconut, but not spill the milk out?? (seriously, I had a coconut in my shelf for months once, couldn't open the dang thing!)

The Comedian
06-16-2009, 08:21 AM
Aye, that.

Poetic -- I use a cordless drill and drill two holes in the coconut. Then I pour the milk into a glass. Next, I use a hammer to bust open the rest of the shell. There is something rewarding about using power tools to open fruit.

Same question:

JuniperWoolf

I'm from Grande Cache, Canada.

As far as the third world war question goes, I had a soldier talk to my class one time and he said that if there were to be a third world war it would be fought with nuclear weapons. Combat has changed drastically in the last fifty years, so whether or not there will be a third world war is difficult to speculate. I'm not in any position to guess.

All countries, this summer, the states, and perhaps Budapest in Hungary.

What do you want to see when you travel?

kiz_paws
06-18-2009, 02:37 AM
What I enjoy seeing when I travel is the history of a place. There is so much more to say, but to keep it short, that would be my answer. :)

When you are travelling, do you savour the journey TO the place, or do you concentrate on just getting there and enjoying that particular place?

Chava
06-18-2009, 03:23 AM
It can be both. When backpacking through Europe, I loved waking up and looking out the train window as dawn broke in the mountain ranges and the mist swirled past the train. On the other hand, this summer I'm going to the states and the journey is of no interest, but the destination very important.

When was the last time you challenged yourself?

PoeticPassions
06-18-2009, 03:25 AM
Depends what kind of journey it is... I usually don't like the act of traveling though (airports, driving for a long time, etc. are all horrible to me), but I love to go to new places. So I probably would focus on just getting there.

Do you consider yourself adventurous?

mono
06-18-2009, 04:44 AM
Not until recently. I tended not to take risks, having learned from my past or from examples from others, but I have gotten a bit daring at times, only in times I felt confident, however, whether for reaching a destination, for love, for personal goals, for success . . .

What did you last regret?

The Comedian
