If you could wish for anyone in the world (other than yourself or your partner) to win $50,000,000 (or any large sum of money in whatever currency) who would you bestow this upon and why?
Good question. I can think of several students of mine who are single-moms (with more than one kid) work a full time job, take a full coarse load, and NEVER make an excuse for absences, late work, etc. . . . I'd give the dough to one of them. . . . the most respectable people I know.

There's Asimov, who made me realize I really like Sci-fi a lot, and thus made me see so many sci-fi movies. :D
Then there is Neil Gaiman, who I found takes a lot after me when I started reading some of his Novels (Thanks Night! Best gift ever! It's in an AWESOME spot! :))
A few philosophers, won't name them all, but they helped shape my vision of the world as it is now.
And a group of people that are the writers of a certain big book that is in part helped me realize that a certain something is the biggest load of nonsense and mass delusion ever. YAY!
Sure there is more, but these are the biggest ones.
Biggest life altering moment?
a_little_wisp

<--This lady in my avatar, Delirium, was created by him.
My biggest life-altering moment? So far?
The day my Dad chose to keep my brother over my stepmother (Well, of course he did!!). It reshaped our whole family. It doesn't feel that much life-altering now, but ... it was at the time.

What are you wearing right now?
a_little_wisp
05-04-2009, 10:40 AM
Bien, Capricorn, right?:
"It's a good detail-planning day in terms of where you want to take your future. Life may be in a state of flux right now, but that won't last forever, so you should get prepared for when things settle down. Line up activities and projects for when your calendar loosens up again. There's no need to nail down every single goal of course, but it would be worth a few minutes of your time to pinpoint one or two interesting items you want to explore later on."
PoeticPassions, that sounds like a lovely little vacation! :D
As for me, I worked all weekend, but had an absolute blast!! Exams are over too!!! There's a lot to look forward to in the next couple of months!

Back in Jr High...(eons ago)...I completely forgot to finish (or even start) a take home test...it was like 50% of the grade for that (six week period)...
Have you ever completely blown off a class...just because you didn't care?
Indeedy, I have, for the reason that it did not alter my pursuit in my area(s) if study. Studying trigonometry and pre-calculus seemed enough, refusing 18 weeks of statistics, for someone, at the time, majoring in literature and medicine . . . ridiculous. The application process required stats, but with an appeal and pardon (after writing an essay on why I refused the course), I got accepted to all 3 schools I applied to easily.
Do you think it necessary to take in-depth courses that do not at all involve your area of study, for the sole purpose of having pre-requisites?
Stargazer86
05-04-2009, 01:04 PM
Depends on the class. Some of them wind up being quite valuble. Others are a colossal waste of time and money.

Would you rather be a sap or not?
BienvenuJDC
05-05-2009, 09:47 PM
Sometimes I'd rather be a sap...those who are never sappy...are usually snobbish and better than everyone else.
Have you ever been talking about how stupid someone else is...when you stick both feet in your mouth with your own stupidity?

Ever dived for pebbles at the bottom of the lake?
With my fear of water, no, and the thought of it makes me a bit tense.
What scars do you have from accidents you have regretted?
Chava
05-06-2009, 08:38 AM
None really, I have a scar I got from picking at a wound that my mom kept telling me I would get a scar if I picked at. I sort of regret that.
Shall we have a snowball fight sometime in winter?
We could, certainly, but I will take no prisoners. :D
What material item could you not live without?

Clothes. I hate the cold with a passion.
Is the male in Mono's avatar, tying, or untying the girls' dress?
It makes one wonder, eh? :brow:
Honestly, I have no idea, even though I have had this avatar almost forever; I just like the colors, nostalgia, and artsiness to it.
What theme would you love to choose for the next LitNet avatar change?

Where, is too far away, to travel?
For certain things, I have already traveled very far without regrets, and I would travel much farther if necessary.

Which Simpsons character are you?
I can really relate with Milhouse in a few ways - nerdy, shy, sometimes awkward, but a good friend.
Did you ever have an imaginary friend?
Chava
05-06-2009, 09:06 AM
Oh sure, loads. Some I'd forgotten about, but I was bruttaly reminded by some old old friends. What gives.
Was your imaginary friend male or female?
I had one male imaginary friend, between the ages of 4 and 6, appropriately named after myself; he never slept, and would spend time reading while I slept, but would fly otherwise.
Do you think you could conform well if you had the take up the American measurement systems (pounds, miles, gallons, Fahrenheit)?

Can you whistle with flour in your mouth?
Probably not; I already cannot whistle all that well, and I would probably end up inhaling petals.
Do you swim well? What about diving?
Chava
05-06-2009, 09:24 AM
I'm a great swimmer, and a great diver. But i'm a bit like a cat who likes to keep her paws dry.
Dance at the back, or jump around in the mosh pit?
Neither. I usually end up as the guy who gets to the concert early to stand in front of the mosh pit with a fantastic view of the stage.
Do you tend to work on school or work projects better alone or in groups?
Chava
