My favorite song changes all the time, but for now I'll go with HURT, the Johnny Cash version of a NIN tune.

What is your capacity of calmness in a crazy situation that unfolds around you? (as in, do you get involved or do you stand back and avoid the mess, or what?)

mono
05-28-2009, 03:58 AM
If anything medical contributes to the "crazy situation," I tend to get involved. While working as a critical care nurse for some years, I would not consider myself the very best expert when it comes to reacting quickly and justly, but I prefer at least trying to help, and I tend to stay calm - intense emotion can impede sound reason. Primarily, I love helping people, and have studied how to do it, trying my best to do it; if trouble arises, I would never call myself some miracle worker, but I would love to offer at least a little assistance.

Same question.

kingoflombards
05-28-2009, 09:48 AM
I always stay calm in disasters. I have been in terrible car wrecks without panicking. But once as you bring needless into it, that's a whole different story!

Same!

NikolaiI
05-28-2009, 11:12 AM
I would try to remain calm while being involved.

What is the nicest way anyone said they loved you?

The Comedian
05-28-2009, 01:24 PM
"wuv eew daddy. friend."

I like this one NickoliI. Let's do it again. Same question!

The Walker
05-28-2009, 08:27 PM
he was holding me in my tears and slowly he whispered at my ear: "i love you"

let's keep asking this one, it is a good one..so same question:
What is the nicest way anyone said they loved you?

Chava
05-29-2009, 01:32 AM
There are many that I will never forget. Two are most memorable. In the middle of all my stress of studies, and more I was practicing the sax, and it sounded awful, my ex, was listening and he didn't say anything, even if I kept appologising for the terrible sound. Later, I found a note on my desk, saying "I love you, and your music".
The other most memorable one was simple, but the effect was astonishing; "I love you Sunniva".

Same Question;

kiz_paws
05-29-2009, 03:01 AM
Well, a certain someone put both hands on my face and held it, staring into my eyes for a long time, and then he whispered I Love You....
I knew it would be a forever thing there and then ...

And yes, let us keep this going, it is a sweet question.

SAME

PoeticPassions
05-29-2009, 03:19 AM
I have two memorable ones also... one is with my current boyfriend, who after me going on this whole speech about how I wish I could melt into him, because nothing else is enough, he stopped me mid-speech, looked right at me and said, "I love you too."

The other was from a passion filled encounter at the park, where in all our trepidation, he said, "I didn't even think this was possible. I love you more than I have loved any other woman. I could spend the rest of my life with you."

Same question... :)

mono
05-29-2009, 03:43 PM
Simply yet perplexingly, whisperingly yet ear-piercingly, warmly yet something that freezes me, randomly yet in perfect time, intimately yet verbally, fondly yet interpersonally, and, most of all, from someone I love, too.

If you could construct a story out of the fewest words possible, how would it sound?

Chava
05-29-2009, 03:50 PM
No where near as complex as Hemingway's. "Though he was the driver, the passenger told him which direction to turn."

Same question

mono
05-29-2009, 03:51 PM
Once upon a time, I lived happily ever after.
*shrugs*

What percussion instrument do you like the most?

Chava
05-29-2009, 03:54 PM

Which time period would you feel most at home in?

mono
05-29-2009, 03:59 PM
I feel very at home in the present, but I have always had a fascination of the late 19th century and early 20th century, particularly in Europe and North America.

Who would you love to see play Hamlet in the next performance at the Kronborn Castle?

Chava

Are you a foreign cultures sot of a person?

mono
05-29-2009, 04:08 PM
Somewhat. One cannot fully detach from one's self and own attributes, but, from what little traveling I have done, I surely enjoy mingling amid others.

From what land do you most prefer your coffee (Colombia, Ethiopia, Sumatra, etc.)?

Chava
05-29-2009, 04:10 PM
Sumatran coffee is sovereign.

When is the time for an ideal kiss?

mono
05-29-2009, 04:14 PM
Anytime sounds ideal, as it seems difficult to predict when I could desire one most, but I treasure those morning kisses upon waking, most definitely.

Do you think I could ever talk anyone into getting one of those gorgeous Indonesian, hand-carved beds?

Chava
05-29-2009, 04:15 PM
It depends on the thickness of your wallet, and the smoothness of your tongue, but I do not think it is impossible.

Can one become a Buddha?

mono
05-29-2009, 04:19 PM
Oh, goodness! Do you dare ask a skeptic a question like this? Honestly, I have no idea, and I would highly doubt it, but the inevitable subjectivity of thought and judgment could convince others that yes, it seems possible . . . seems.

Would you ever advocate for a global currency?

Chava
05-29-2009, 04:22 PM
Yes, though I can understand why not. Either way, most currency is already bound to another, the Euro, the Pound, or the Dollar. One currency might prevent all the speculation into purchasing money... and thus undercutting a whole currency, undermining its value! Complicated complicated issue. But, for travelling purposes, I gotta say I love that the Euro is nearly everywhere in the EU. Imagine switching currency in each state?!

Which european country would you fit best in?

kingoflombards
05-29-2009, 06:42 PM
Either Italy or Germany. I look Italian, but would look German just as easily.

Same.

Do people ever tell you that you look like one of your parents?

BienvenuJDC
05-30-2009, 04:45 PM
Occasionally...but not often

What do you prefer to hear from people that comment about you?

Chava

Whatever is honest.

Do you give compliments when you dont mean them?

Stargazer86
05-30-2009, 05:00 PM
No. That makes them so empty. I think there's a tactful way to get around things without being dishonest. Like if someone gets a haircut you think looks bad on them and they ask what you think, you can always say Wow that sure is different. Or I hardly recognized you! It'll be hard to get used to you with a brand new style. You know, something along those lines.

What is the biggest lie you've ever told?

Chava

Not having the things that I want...but oh well

What did you do over the weekend?

The Comedian
06-01-2009, 09:33 AM
Fishin' with the girls, had a few beers with the boys, read some Thoreau, cut down a couple trees, mowed the lawn, made tacos, cleaned the house.

What did you do this weekend?

PoeticPassions
06-01-2009, 09:44 AM
Hung out with friends, watched a movie, went to a play, went out dancing (and stayed out past sunrise), went to the gym, read some Huntington, and wrote a bit.

Hm, let's say...well, I don't have one...sorry, I'll think about it and then edit this post :)

Which book or movie have you reread or watched the most?

Edit - so I decided on Apollo "God of music, prophecies, poetry, and archery. Also said to be the god of light and truth."

Hermes (the messenger)

A re-watched movie...I have two girls...we have watched Camp Rock 200,000 times...

What is your favorite Greek name?

The Comedian
06-01-2009, 09:48 AM
Book: Walden; I've probably read it circa 15 times.

Movie: Star Wars IV -- I was (okay, am) a HUGE Star Wars nerd in my day. I've probably seen this movie circa 50 times.

[EDIT: favorite Greek name: Helen]

Have you ever felled a tree?

BienvenuJDC
06-01-2009, 09:54 AM

edit- yes, I do. I'm still a city girl.

How do you feel about hunting for sport?

The Comedian
06-01-2009, 10:06 AM
A tricky question, PoeticPassions. Generally, it's a good thing insofar as hunters are responsible & safe and use the game that they kill. For our youth, I think that hunting is an excellent introduction to the natural world -- in some ways a highly honest one in that they get to actively participate in the natural cycle (predator, prey).

I am, more or less, a former hunter; I never liked it as much as fishing. But I value those early hunts as a source of connection with the natural world that no other experience could have taught to me as clearly as hunting.

I cried when I killed my first deer. And I prayed for it.

How do you feel about fishing as a sport?

What is your favorite Greek name?

Hilarious! I had the same problem with Beauty and the Beast whenever I babysat for friends.

My father and brother hunts for sport, but we do use all the meat...

I personally, won’t do it, I can’t even watch nature shows...too disturbing...which is funny since I can watch horror movies, hehe :)

How do you remember things? ...apart from using your brain :)

BienvenuJDC

kingoflombards
