I'm currently too depressed to have any clue, and unfortunately that's the gospel truth...

Same question

zanna

Some Chocolate chip cookies, a smile from a friend, white fluffy clouds in a blue sky, swing-dancing the night away, chilling with family, a good book . . . I'm a fan of the random smile from a friend you haven't seen in forever. That one is always good for me!

Same question: what is the cure for depression?

papayahed
05-17-2007, 09:23 PM
Drugs? I don't know.

Gym Shoes or Sandals?

Shalot
05-17-2007, 10:57 PM
i'll take drugs and some sandals (preferably with socks, because if I were on drugs I wouldn't think anything of wearing some black socks and tevas or birkinstocks to the market to buy organic produce and some cheetos)

do you have an odd neighbor? For example, there is a woman who lives in our area and we see her walking around wearing a back pack and she often goes to the grocery store or anywhere there is an outdoor ash can and she picks the cigarette butts out of it and puts them in a ziploc bag. In the summer, she wears a tank top and shorts and tennis shoes with some big socks, and in the winter she wears a trenchcoat. She always has hear back pack though. We've nicknamed her "crazy cigarette lady." (which isn't very nice, I know). So, have you got anyone like that in your area and if so, do tell.

Aunty-lion
05-17-2007, 11:12 PM
I once had this neighbour who I thought was a victim of domestic violence. I had just moved into this house, and my flatmate and I kept hearing screams from the house next door, and whenever we saw the woman who lived there, there were bruises all over her face. But one day we got to talking and she apologised for her whiny kids always screaming about othing, and I also realised that she didn't have bruises, but a large birthmark on her face! Whoops!

Actually I live in the roughest area of my city, so, there's crazy people pretty much everywhere *sigh*.

What has made you laugh today?

Bakiryu
05-17-2007, 11:12 PM
Moulin Rouge. My friends and i pulled a prank on my homo-ey friend (who isn't gay but kinda scared of females) and it was hilarious.

What crazy colors have you dyed your hair? or wanted to?

Aunty-lion
05-17-2007, 11:17 PM
I shaved it all off once, and then died it blue when it grew back a bit. I always wanted to die it aquamarine, but was worried about regrowth. Now I am a boring grownup with brown hair.

What was the last thing that made you cry?

kiz_paws
05-21-2007, 12:27 AM
Sadly, yes ... there is just something about an animal like that held in captivity that I find tear jerking. Sounds weird, but it is the truth.

Has anyone ever been 'skunked'?

kiz_paws
05-21-2007, 12:29 AM
Ooops, I answered the same one that Aunty-Lion did, sorry 'bout that!

The last person who repulsed me was a drunk dancing like the Spice Girls and they were kinda shocking.

I repeat my Q: Has anyone ever been 'skunked' ?

Aunty-lion
05-21-2007, 12:38 AM
Nope. There aren't any skunks in New Zealand. There are some pretty stinky boys though!

Have you ever eaten an olive, but thought it was going to be a grape?

What do you think is your greatest fault?

quasimodo1
05-21-2007, 08:32 PM
My greatest fault: I'm afraid they are done deeds and the motivations for them no longer exist. Still, if there is one that still lives in me...it is fear of and yet attraction to some kind of intimacy, though I do whitle away at it. To complete this with a question, why are we so driven to risk it? That may be just a rhetorical question.

Pendragon
05-22-2007, 10:21 AM
I am probably a little too open with people, TMI, you know? And a lot of the time when I know I have the right to remain silent, I simply cannot seem to find the ability, and that gets me in trouble.

Very good question. I think I'll pass it on.

Domer121
05-22-2007, 04:33 PM
I would say that I am way too curious..I have gotten in trouble because I love to know about everything all the time! I also like to talk about my finds.. I can be a bit of a mess sometimes:)
I will pass that question on again..

Bakiryu
05-22-2007, 04:47 PM
I'm too sensible and trusting, people hurt me and then expect me to forget them. I get used a lot too, got my heart broken more times than i can count. I could say my greatest fault is forgiving happy times but keeping the sorrow.

My biggest fault is that I am somewhat apathetic in my dealings with people.

Same question?

quasimodo1
05-22-2007, 05:22 PM
I am no longer apathetic (unless it involves cerain kinds of politics, which we don't discuss here) and I used to be extremely arrogant but have mostly cured myself of that and maybe even gathered a measure of humility. Did you know that the root of the word "arrogance" comes from the Latin verb...arrago... I sieze for myself. Interesting. Perhaps you confuse some of what you call arrogance with a level of confidence. quasimodo1

What would be the first thing you do when you move to a new town?

quasimodo1
05-22-2007, 09:30 PM
Interesting you should ask that. It is a question that has been with me. First, I would not go to a bar or any such place. But that is what I would not do. I guess I'd have a topo map of it and check out what nature provided in the way of park or wilderness. quasimodo1

kiz_paws

Pendragon

Basketball. Before I became disabled and gained all this weight, I played almost every day with guys almost half my age. Loved it! Had a tee-shirt here for winning the foul shot competetion. It took time for me to develop hand/eye coordination, but when I did, I was deadly with a basketball.http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l108/AbsalomKane/Basketball.gif

Were you ever teased by other kids when you grew up or currently? Why?

kiz_paws
05-27-2007, 01:06 PM
I was teased by kids growing up because of my extremely difficult to pronounce/spell last name (it was Icelandic, and that's all I shall say). But the bright side is that they gave me a cool nickname that I still use to this day, lol.

I interrupt this thread to offer my sincere good wishes to Quasimodo and family in their loss. God Bless.

I will pose that same question to you, poster below me!

quasimodo1
05-28-2007, 12:34 AM
Loving from afar, yes, i know about that. Tried it for quite a while with god and his kin. No luck there. Got married, that worked much better but people don't live forever, can you believe it? Tried unrequieted love too, it was ok and the turbulence level was way down. Think i'll just try "like" for awhile. quasimodo1

Aunty-lion
05-28-2007, 12:42 AM
Well, i guess I'll just answer the same again,

I myself am not a big lover from afar. I have experienced unrequited love, but I tend to let the person know, and find out that way. I guess then, if the love is unrequited, at least i'll know there's no chance and be able to move on.

Am happily engaged now though.

Pendragon
05-29-2007, 12:01 PM
Never really thought about it until the other day. I gave a man a ride because he locked his keys in his car and needed to go home for a second set. He offered to pay me, but I noticed his tag had a Purple Heart veteran on it. I indicated the tag and told him he already paid me more than I could ever repay him. Think about that the next time you enjoy your freedom. Men like that guy are the reason we still have it. Not the elected man, but the one who puts his life on the line. There's a hero. The police, firefighters, rescue squad personal, forest rangers, soldiers, sailors, ordinary citizens who go the extra mile, to save a stranger, they are my heroes. The man who will lay his life on the line for others, there is my hero.

There is this older woman who has endured unspeakable hardships. Her first husband was childlike for decades after an accident, one of her daughters was violently attacked as a young girl (it was bad), her second husband suffered a stroke just a month after their wedding and has never regained the ability to speak. She has cared for dozens of sick and dieing friends and relatives and this is just the things that come quickly to mind.

I have never seen her that she wasn’t smiling. Even when I’ve come to offer help she has asked what she can do for me. She is a real trooper and my example and my hero.

Dear Pen: I don't feel old, most days; but on this forum, sometimes because of the postings and the obvious youth of those who write them, yes by comparison. But that's silly, old is always by comparison. Psychologically, I feel relatively young, even immature, some days, by virtue of those I know and those I read, who seem to have a better handle on time as a force of nature. When a crowd I used to hang around with years ago would say...snooze and you loose, well, I'm not buying that entirely but somewhat. Tempus fugit, like it or not. quasimodo1

Ok, lets see if I can remember them all:

First time I was 1 &1/2after a convulsion. They took some spinal fluid to test it incase I had meningitis.

When I was 2 I dislocated my elbow doing ring a ring a rosies with the mother & brother to rock & roll music.

Various times for X-rays on injuries from playing rugby (ribs, shoulder, jaw)

x-rays on ankle injured whilst playing football (soccer) when I was 11, 17 yr old crunched my ankle swelled up like a balloon not broken however.

Broken knuckle after punching a brick wall (knuckle now on wrong side of hand)

Ankle after showing off playing football (soccer) against some canucks - did a triple step-over while dribbling, first 2 went ok third tripped over ball. again only badly sprained

I think that is a complete answer.

how would you like to die? ( I'm a depressing person)

Morbid, maybe, but not necessarily depressing.

As a fairly morbid person myself; I'll answer: Horribly

Horrible deaths tend to be quick. That's what I'm after. Something quick that will give my friends a great story to tell.

"Did you hear about Tim? He was splattered all over the sidewalk when that frozen chunk of airplane poop fell on his head!" or "He was sliced in half length-wise when he tripped and fell on the train tracks!" or "He was trying to fix his own furnace..... they still can't find all of the pieces of him!"

Answer (shurtugal): Aw, a more concise answer as there will be no "maybe" =).
Aslan, being a symbolic character of God, would not need of anything but your devine devotion and love and loyalty.

Answer (hubbard): I would do anything! Buy a large house, give money to the Church I attend, and help the Soldiers of our Country.

Question:
What would you do if you were king, president, etc of a small country?

I drink a lot of dilutable juice, so I guess more water.

When you drink bottled water do you look at the source where it is bottled (I was with a freind who had bottled water earlier, it happens the bottling source was the same watershed the tap water comes from)?

What was the best day of your life? Why?

Shalot
06-22-2007, 09:34 PM
I can't remember the best day of my life, but I can tell you that the best time of my life (so far) was when I was a kid between the ages of 7 and 11 (aprox). My super-talented cousin was still my best friend in the world, I had two best friends at school, two other best friends at summer day camp, and I didn't fully comprehend the meaning of the world alchoholic. I wasn't limited by reality or depression and when my parents told me I could be whatever I wanted to be when I grew up, I believed them. I also thought that one day I could do whatever I set out to do. I was in for a major slap in the face though.

Has anyone ever actually slapped you in the face?
