I wouldn't want to look like that, no, but I would like that type of body for myself.
Do you think he's taller than 5' 5"?
BibliophileTRJ
02-22-2007, 02:07 PM
Who cares how tall he is? He's stunning!
The real question is: If I had a body like that would I ever be able to stop touching myself?
Riesa
02-22-2007, 02:09 PM
good question, but you'd stop touching yourself when it was time to lift weights.
You really don't think it would take some of the stun away from his stunningness if he was far shorter than you?
papayahed
02-22-2007, 02:15 PM
haha that would bug me if he was shorter.
What if he was a dumb as a brick would he still be that attrative?

Riesa
02-24-2007, 10:10 AM
ah....
Lying in a Hammock at William Duffy's Farm
in Pine Island, Minnesota
Over my head, I see the bronze butterfly,
Asleep on the black trunk,
blowing like a leaf in green shadow.
Down the ravine behind the empty house,
The cowbells follow one another
Into the distances of the afternoon.
To my right,
In a field of sunlight between two pines,
The droppings of last year's horses
Blaze up into golden stones.
I lean back, as the evening darkens and comes on.
A chicken hawk floats over, looking for home.
I have wasted my life.
James Wright

I helped an elderly lady whose car wouldn't start in a grocery parking lot--no, wait! That's only what I THOUGHT about doing. I actually continued on about my business like everybody else... I'm just a sad and pathetically self-absorbed creature who can't even take a few minutes out of her day to help a poor, stranded old lady. Right, well... Cheerio!

Shalot

Well, it's not so much a matter of whether it's books or CDs, but rather what's in them, or on them. Like if I had to choose between 100 romance novels and 100 CDs of all the bands I like, then the choice would be easy. But if I had to choose between 100 books that i like and 100 milli vanilli, Phil Collins, David Coverdale CDs then I would have to go with the books.

The day I realized that the 2 people I should trust and feel safe around(my parents)..I did not... still don't..though I have been able to recover and find new family in new form....
When did you fall in love for the first time??
BibliophileTRJ
03-20-2007, 03:21 PM
I was 14, a freshman in high school, first day of the year.... Saw my new shop teacher for the first time. He was big & barrel chested, had a big thick beard & mustache, looked like a lumberjack....couldn't take my eyes off of him....all year long.
Alas, that was unrequited love..... if you want the story of reciprocated love... that's not an appropriate story for this site.
When did you first came to the realization that death could happen to you?
Domer121
03-20-2007, 03:28 PM
Still hasn't happened:) No, I think when I was about 5, I stomped on an ant and I began to cry because I realized that I had just killed something and that if I could do that to something I suppose it could happen to me..
When did you first get hurt by what someone said??
BibliophileTRJ
03-20-2007, 03:35 PM
Was 8 or 9..... heard Mom & Dad arguing..... Dad said "No son of mine is going to be a filthy faggot!" That hurt like hell.....still does.
Who was the first person (parents excluded) that made you feel truly special?
Domer121
03-20-2007, 03:38 PM
A man I met when I was 14, I always looked older than I was and I don't know how old he thought I was, but he looked at me and said "you are so beautiful". I think for the first time I really believed it, I still carry that memory with me today.

Diane... a wonderful woman that waited tables in a diner across from the docks where Dad's boat was moored. Question For The Thread: Do you like music as much as books? :)
andave_ya
03-21-2007, 11:53 AM
Yes! Music plays a huge part in my life.
What kind of music do you like?
kiz_paws
03-21-2007, 01:11 PM
My musical tastes are eclectic, but I will list a few of my absolute loves: I love the sound of someone playing the piano, from the sound of a simple practice session, to the grand recordings I have of Masters playing Chopin and the like.... awesome!
For cd's that I mindlessly listen to for whatever reason, hmmm ... well I do love Leonard Cohen intensely (for poetry and music), but I also love Nirvana, and the sultry sounds of kd lang (she uses all lowercase).
Thats all I shall say for now, for fear of becoming boring. :yawnb:

either early in the morning or late or night...whenever my soul starts hollaring for expression and overflows and can get no peace until i find pen and paper...
great question continue on....when is your favorite time of day to sit down and write write write?
kiz_paws
03-21-2007, 06:10 PM
My favorite time of day to write is in the early morning, after I have walked the dog. I usually let my mind wander aimlessly, and of course, I carry a small notepad/pen (YA GOTTA!!). Then, once at home, I can usually feel the muse.
[beware, it doesn't always go that way....we all get the nefarious "Writer's Block"]
And so, I ask the next person, what is YOUR favorite time of day to sit down and write write write?
hockeychick8792
03-21-2007, 07:13 PM
In the evening right in between the point of seeing the sunset and complete darkness. You know when the sky is blood-stained red with a few other colors and the star right behind them.
I would like to ask this next reader, are there any strange rituals when you write?
Ex: I prop my feet up and turn on a song that fits my mood (sad day-depressing song)
andave_ya
03-21-2007, 08:19 PM
Yup. First, it has to be dark outside. Then, I go into my room, shut the door (I don't have a doorknob, so sometimes my cat comes in), close the curtains, take my shoes off and sit crosslegged on my bed.
What do you write about?

Same question. and why.
I believe the "dirty 30's" may refer to many things (hmmm something worth writing about??), but for one: the desperation of the people trying to get by after the Stock Market Crash of 1929.... Also, many southern states were 'dust bowls'... and there could be more to it (Prohibition ended 1933, lol), etc.
Yes, my avatar is indeed Jean Harlow, and Wikipedia has a good article on her. :)
Now, to answer papayahed's question... I realized the world was an ugly place when two mean teenage girls laughed and pointed at me when I was very very small (grade one or two) because I had such short hair (damn my mother's taste in hair). And I recalled being so crushed out that I wanted to shrink into nothingless.
I got over it thankfully (lol), and now pose a question -- Where will you be in five years from now?

My least favorite book is probably so far The Crucible....or maybe The Gift of Magic (really predictable and sappy)

"Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen
Now I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
It goes like this
The fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew her
She tied you
To a kitchen chair
She broke your throne, and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
You say I took the name in vain
I don't even know the name
But if I did, well really, what's it to you?
There's a blaze of light
In every word
It doesn't matter which you heard
The holy or the broken Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
I did my best, it wasn't much
I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch
I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you
And even though
It all went wrong
I'll stand before the Lord of Song
With nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah

How serious is the Global Warming issue ... ?
Oh, totally serious! If this doesn't stop, five islands will sink here in the Philippines, like Batangas and all the other small islands that surround it. Antartica is a bomb. A ticking bomb. I'm worried you know, and :flare: Bush:flare: doesn't want to act about it. A small country in the Indian ocean already sank because of it, and all the people there already evacuated. It's all so sad. I wish I'd die before Earth sinks.
