Summary Chp. 26

Finally Edgar agreed to let Cathy meet Linton right in the middle between the two houses. In reality, Linton, weak as he was, had walked only a quarter mile from Wuthering Heights. He obviously was obliged to go through the meeting. He didnt even pretend that he was interested in Cathys company.

He slept rather than talked or simply listened. He also made no complaint whatsoever as usual that Cathy thought he was really feeling better. With all the disappointment at the meeting, she wouldve gone straight home had Ellen hadnt told her to at least wait until he woke up.

Linton woke up when he thought he heard his father was coming.
