I think I know why I have never gotten into this sport of golf, because I always wondered why, if it is presumably so relaxing, why does my hubby take it so seriously....:D

Domer121
04-01-2007, 12:14 AM
What I don't understand is why people get so into sports anyway, I went to a basketball game and all of these people were SCREAMING! and I found it not at all relaxing..any idea??

AdoreroDio
04-01-2007, 12:24 AM
why on earth do you want to know what goes on in the crazy minds of sport enthusiasts?

Domer121
04-01-2007, 12:29 AM
Because I want to know why they think it is relaxing....I mean I am so far from that....quiet for me, though I don't mind to get loud and excited now and again..but I find it unreal to think of that as enjoyable....no offense to sports lovers.... I am just odd, I suppose..

Where do I learn everything, Maddie? Am I not the Devourer of Books? Does not memsahib mean "lady" in India? The other meaning given by Paws was more because the servants were calling the married European woman they served "Lady" as well, and in books I have read, it also applies to unmarried women with servants; so it just showed respect, like saying Madam or Miss, see? I was so pleasantly surprised :D It does mean a Lady  Actually Sahib means Sir or used when addressing someone with respect, and memsahib is also Maam / Madam of the Sahib, people couldnt say Maam / Madam properly and it became mem :D

And just why were you surprised, memsahib? I read a lot, and Richard Wentworth, The Spider, has a giant Sikh as a servant, very deadly with knives, very respectful in language, so I pick up words here and there and become certain of their meanings, no? http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l108/AbsalomKane/friendly.gif

Pendragon
04-05-2007, 11:55 AM
I wouldn't know, She-Who-Is-Not-To-Be-Named, I am not even sure about the formic acid except that ants contain it, but they taste a bit sharp bitter, you know? I do know many native people eat ant and termites, but I would be certain to chew them well, some ants have pinchers I wouldn't want going off in my belly, you know? Ouch!

Aren't the French the hairiest people? Isn't beauty in the eye of the beholder? And aren't there ugly people and pretty people all over the world? Didn't you pretty much just stomp my logic to the ground and make me look stupid? Aren't you so right in saying that there are beautiful and ugly people all over the world? And isn't beauty in the eye of the beholder; although I can't reply in sentence or say anything that objects, isn't that perfectly so?

But did you know that it has been said that the French tend to breed beautiful children but that you make it appear that it isn't so and in making it appear that it isn't so you have broadened my perspectives and made me realize that people have a propensity to concoct what they think is beautiful?

And did you know I'm actually liking these, broken up, pretentious, sentence run-on questions?

And isn't this perfectly so but when an average person sees an individual of Caucasian appearance/descent walk along the sidewalk with a caramel african american mixed/african american pure/ or hispanic, they say, "Hey there are two different people of different races walking by!" And don't those people act very authoratitave, impudent and irrational in judging so impetuously?

Dearest, I've never ever in my whole life heard of a group of sounds that remotely resembles the one in 'parsnips', am I supposed to be a native speaker to know what it means? Am I supposed to feel ashamed for not knowing? Or at least ashamed for being too lazy to google it?

kathycf

Aren't you over analyzing?! :p

Would it help if I explained that parsnip is a root vegetable?

Scratch that, let's go back to cocoa, what do you say?

Niamh

Are you like my still wondering what type of cheesecake? Will we have to wait until Kandaurov is back from the football match to find out? can it be strewberry cheesecake or ooooooooooo baileys irish cream cheese cake?

kathycf
04-09-2007, 05:41 PM
Sorry kandaurov, but if you think ladies can wait to eat cheesecake you are mistaken...best hurry back from that football match, eh?

Isn't plain cheesecake with some strawberries glopped on it really good, or is that just me?

Wouldn't a spinach flavored cheesecake be incredibly awful though?

Adolescent09

It would not be scrumptuous I might as well acquiesce? Do you have a clue as to what gets me more nettled than cheescake in spinach? Putrid dog breath?

Or may I say, she is an anti-spinacher?

Maddie, if you tasted it, I don't think you would be asking what the fuss is all about, no?

I say that because I think cheesecake rules, so I may be biased, no?

Sruban or struban (unsure of the spelling) is another word for cockles Kathycf. I used to rake them out of the sand at low tide. My uncle used to eat barnacles raw. Now that was a real teuchter's mionnach. What did happen to English? Same as Topsy.
I had the privilege to attend a major piping competition yesterday. Food drink and fantastic music - total debauchery of the most civilised sort.
