Is it necessary to know each person in the Universe in order to decide whether Aimus is the best turniper or not?
Isn't that just self-evident?

Just how do you define "known universe"?
Pendragon
06-27-2006, 10:35 AM
How do we even know that you are not a figment of our own deluded minds?
Can we be truly certain of anything when Science states that personal experience is not valid proof? That eyewitness testimony, the very evidence that sends many to prison or to the death house, is notoriously unreliable? Is then there any way to define “known universe”, when it seems that everything known is subject to severe question? http://www.cosgan.de/images/midi/konfus/a015.gif

Can we not be sure the Aimus is the best turniper, regardless of whether we even know if we or he exists?
Aren't turnips 'truer' in that sense?
kathycf

Don't we need to suspend reality, so to speak, to thus declare Aimus the best turniper in the universe? Did that make any sense at all? ;)

You all should read Tom Stoppard's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. Stoppard invented this game. And there are rules and ways to score each "game" and "set" and "match" that make it much more interesting, e.g., no rhetorical questions, no non sequitors. I think Stoppard may have come up with it by a careful reading of Waiting For Godot, but I could be wrong.

07-21-2006, 02:31 PM
What kind of cannibal do you take me for?
Madhuri
07-21-2006, 02:44 PM
Aren't you the one who takes turnips as guinea pigs and also has names for them????
Well you need not be a cannibal, you are too much of a Sage to become one. Would you want to prove it wrong????? :brow:

Is Aimus really a great big turnip and not this dashing fellow here (http://www.online-literature.com/forums/showpost.php?p=216638&postcount=905) ?
(BTW, do you not think that I think that is a cute pic? :))

07-21-2006, 09:50 PM
Doesn't it go without saying that no one would dare admit it before him?
ShoutGrace
07-21-2006, 11:40 PM
But isn't being a turnip far more laudable than being a human?
caesar
07-22-2006, 01:49 AM
You mean, it's better to be eaten than to eat?
AimusSage
07-22-2006, 04:18 AM
Did any of you ever consider the fact that I might actually be a human-turnip hybrid from a cloning experiment gone horribly wrong?
Madhuri
07-22-2006, 04:20 AM
Oh, poor you. Who did that to you???
caesar
07-22-2006, 04:22 AM
Dr.Henry Jekyll?
AimusSage
07-22-2006, 04:35 AM
Would you believe me I don't know?
Don't you wish he hadn't kept the test tube I was in covered with something, preventing me from identifying him?
caesar
07-22-2006, 04:55 AM
And then; what happened after you came out of the test tube? Had he disappeared?
AimusSage
07-22-2006, 05:01 AM
Didn't I tell you I got rescued by the martians, who vaporized the poor doctor?
literaturerocks
07-22-2006, 11:40 AM
what doctor?
kathycf
07-22-2006, 01:58 PM
The doctor that did the whole cloning turnip-hybrid fiasco?
Pendragon
07-22-2006, 02:01 PM
Aimus, is it OK if we think you look like Edward Scissorhands? Which would, of course, account for aversion to mention of "slicing and dicing"?

Madhuri
07-22-2006, 02:02 PM
Where does that doctor live?? I might need his help in the near future :D :D
kathycf
07-22-2006, 02:15 PM
Is the doctor necessarily a "he"? Perhaps the doctor is the little girl who lives down the lane, a child prodigy?
AimusSage
07-23-2006, 04:38 AM
You think the martians vaporized a child prodigy?
Pen, don't I have turnip feet instead of scissor hands?
Pendragon
07-23-2006, 10:12 AM
Well, it might account for your taking root on top of the Hill all the time at that, wouldn't it?
literaturerocks
07-23-2006, 10:14 AM
why would it do that?
what hill?
kathycf
07-23-2006, 05:27 PM
Have you not sat upon the litnet hill and been rudely knocked off by Aimus?
AimusSage
07-23-2006, 05:31 PM
Didn't I give away the hill to charity a long time ago? Didn't it become a childrens playground?
kathycf
07-23-2006, 05:34 PM
Isn't that somewhat misleading?
Is not the hill still standing as a testament to knocking people off of it?
AimusSage
07-23-2006, 05:36 PM
Isn't being knocked off the hill part of the children playing king of the hill, on my hill?
kathycf
07-23-2006, 05:38 PM
So you assume it is just your hill, do you?
AimusSage
07-23-2006, 05:42 PM
How could it not be my hill? Didn't you know I just got tired of having to kick of unwanted visitors, so instead I gave it to charity to do with as they saw fit?
kathycf
07-23-2006, 05:45 PM
Shall I give you my patented "yeah, right" look?
AimusSage
07-23-2006, 05:50 PM
Does it please you to give that look?
kathycf
07-23-2006, 05:52 PM
Do you really have to ask? :p
AimusSage
07-23-2006, 05:56 PM
Wasn't I merely being courteous by showing interest in your supposed 'yeah, right' look?
kathycf
07-23-2006, 06:04 PM
Aren't you just being modest?
Hey, is this turniper club exclusive, or what?
AimusSage
07-23-2006, 06:08 PM
Weren't you a member already?
kathycf
07-23-2006, 06:18 PM
Ah, I hope you don't expect membership dues, right?
AimusSage
07-23-2006, 06:20 PM
Can you believe you have a benefactor who has already paid your membership fee for the next ten years?
kathycf
07-23-2006, 06:25 PM
Do you know how special that makes me feel? Shall I shout "Hurrah"?
AimusSage
07-23-2006, 06:26 PM
What if it was the prince of Wales?
kathycf
07-23-2006, 06:31 PM
Does that make a difference? Do you think he will expect something in return?
*edit* Do you like my new sig? :p
AimusSage
07-23-2006, 06:40 PM
Is it an exclusive club? Doesn't that make you feel special, being a part of such an exclusive bunch of turnipers? :D
thevintagepiper
07-23-2006, 09:48 PM
Wouldn't it make you feel special? Even if it was the...mentally challenged kind of "special?"
literaturerocks
07-24-2006, 01:05 AM

ShoutGrace

Wouldn't it make you feel special? Even if it was the...mentally challenged kind of "special?"
Ooooooooh. Burn. Perhaps that PAM up there hasn't yet comprehended how magnificent and transcendental turnips, tunippers, and turnipping is?
Isn't turnipping really more of an intrisic calling, rather than a club?
Adelheid
07-24-2006, 03:34 AM
What do you do in a turnipping club? Pull turnips all day?
Madhuri
07-24-2006, 03:42 AM
Oh No, they make the turnips run around in a cage and later perform human-turnip hybrid experiment done specially by Martian scientists. I pesume they have perfected this art. What do you say????
Adelheid
07-24-2006, 03:47 AM
Well, having not seeing this most peculiar performance, I can't say. What do you think this world is coming to?
ShoutGrace
07-24-2006, 05:25 AM
Some glorious post turnip enlightened vegetarian utopia, perhaps?
Pendragon
07-24-2006, 11:10 AM
Aimus, do you expect me to believe you "gave your hill away for charitable reasons?" IRS finally caught up with you, huh? You need a Dragon for that Turnip Club. Ever see a Dragon plow a field, not to mention cook?
AimusSage
07-24-2006, 12:21 PM
Can everyone who wishes to join pay the membership fees of a turnip each day? Isn't anyone willing to give away their turnips for the greater good of turniping welcome?
IRS, now really, what is that?

How many stars did you rate this thread? How many stars did you rate the turnip?
AimusSage
07-24-2006, 12:41 PM
Don't I keep all my stars to myself, where they might shine brighly on my folly?
ShoutGrace
07-24-2006, 06:11 PM
Aren't you a star yourself, Aimus, to all those oppressed, unrepresented, weak, hungry turnips out there?
kathycf
07-24-2006, 06:14 PM
Are not we all such stars, to our own individual beloved turnips?
ShoutGrace
07-24-2006, 06:17 PM
And yet, did we not learn all our turnip related tricks and characteristics from the master himself?
kathycf
07-24-2006, 06:20 PM
Perhaps, do you think he will publish a book someday?
ShoutGrace
07-24-2006, 06:22 PM
Shouldn't he? Would we not each go out and pay through the nose to get it on the first day? Do you think the book will come with a complimentary turnip?
kathycf
07-24-2006, 06:24 PM
Wouldn't that be a nifty way to market it?
ShoutGrace
07-24-2006, 06:30 PM
Do you think it would be unfair to the turnips?
kathycf
07-24-2006, 06:34 PM
Must we always think of the turnips feelings? What about the eager would be readers of Aim's book?

ShoutGrace
07-24-2006, 08:41 PM

Do we?
I'm not sure that I do...
Pendragon
07-25-2006, 10:10 AM
What are you gonna call your book, Aimus, Alone With Turnips?
And I think you know very well that the IRS is the tax collecting arm of the USA, mon ami, you cannot play dumb to those that know you, capisce? http://www.cosgan.de/images/smilie/froehlich/c025.gif

AimusSage
07-25-2006, 12:27 PM
Didn't I have an autobiographical novels planned called 'It's love of the turnip for you mister Sage'?
Eva, didn't you know that just when I thought that I was out they pull me back in?
RJbibliophil
07-25-2006, 01:19 PM

ShoutGrace
07-25-2006, 01:26 PM
Eva, didn't you know that just when I thought that I was out they pull me back in?
Don't the powers of turnips surpass the Italian mob in that sense? Isn't it amazing that turnips can exude so much influence over our wants, needs, and desires?
AimusSage
07-25-2006, 01:34 PM
Don't I hope no turnip of mine gets shot outside of the Opera? Wouldn't that be a shame, even if said turnip can't act?
ShoutGrace
07-25-2006, 01:37 PM
You know I consider turnip travails the most unfortunate happenings on the planet, don't you?
Would you believe that just yesterday I saved from the rain a turnip that bore a striking resemblance to Marlon Brando?
AimusSage
07-25-2006, 01:51 PM

ShoutGrace

Are there really black roses?
Pendragon
07-27-2006, 09:17 AM
