Would you have a pet other than a dog or cat?

Hawkman
08-22-2012, 06:05 PM
Yes, in fact I do and have, but they're working animals too. Doesn't pay to cuddle a ferret, but my hawk was very affectionate. {edit:} I was married once, does that count?

Would you ever do or say anything that would get you slapped?

Delta40
08-22-2012, 06:07 PM

Would you read your partner's (gf/bf/wife/husband)diary if you found it and they weren't around?

Would you read one?

lilimarlene
08-22-2012, 08:49 PM
oh goody I get to answer 2 Qs!!!!!

Delta: yes, I would read a diary but only if I suspected something.

tonywalt: some bfs I have and some I haven't (those are the ones's who's diaries I would read :yikes:)Bottom line I do believe there are men you can trust, I generally can sense the ones I can't

Would you forgive someone that cheated on you?

tonywalt
08-23-2012, 11:15 AM
If a girl cheated on me. Hhhm, that's a bit different. uum, I don't know-maybe. Depends on the whole picture. I've never had the situation.

Rant: i don't believe you girls. The girls I see DO go through my blackberry when I am not there(twice this year it happened). I know it. I let it slide cuz they cannot resist the temptation?

Further rant: Also they get their gf's to get tabs on me when i go out(that's annoying) "so and so saw you at...."

Why do such a large % women so desperately want to dig through "a guys stuff" even early on in the relationship?

lilimarlene
08-23-2012, 12:31 PM
I can't speak for all females, but I don't usually ever go through a guys stuff. The only time I have done early on(I think it's been only once, maybe twice) is when I suspected that the person I was dating was a player and was pretending he was a nice guy. …and I was right! So then I knew how to proceed. The other time was in a long term relationship and I felt he was cheating and he was. I have very good intuition but sometimes I don’t follow it cause I’m practical and need proof. When I told a few of my gfs what I had done they were horrified as they would never do such a thing. If I do something like that I know I'm with the wrong person cause if I had a lot of respect for someone I would NEVER do such a thing.

But if this has happened twice this year with I assume 2 different gfs, you either are attracting very intrusive suspicious people or you are giving off some conflicting vibes.

Re: the girlfriends seeing you out....Do you think the gfs were following you? And if they were how old are they?? Or is it possible that they were out and saw you and then told your gf which is a perfectly normal thing to do. That is not exactly spying on you. I think it's perfectly normal to mention to your friends that you saw their friend or bf or gf or brother or sister out, I do it all the time and not because I’m checking up or spying on them. I don't think there is anything wrong with that not unless you have something to hide. I have had friends of bfs do the same thing…Oh sos and so saw you at the supermarket, gas station etc …it’s no big deal.

I have gone out with a number of guys that were very possessive and jealous for no reason. They tried to go through my phone (it's locked, but only because I've lost a couple of phones in the past). I have been stalked etc etc. So it can work both ways.

So why would you continue to go out with someone that went through your blackberry?

tonywalt
08-23-2012, 02:45 PM
Funny enough, they all stated the same thing(verbatim) you just stated as the rational for looking in my blackberry. It's still uncool. They didn't find anything but very old sexts.

The girlfriends spying thing is ok, but the context was a warning "I know where you go" - smart move on their part. Also, familiar with this one sense teens. My only "sin" was not committing to the degree they wanted.

Answer: I would continue to go with the girl and just be practical(lock and password).

Would you convert to a religon(no attendence necessary, just the mere formality-a boxtick) for someone you are going to marry or partner with?

lilimarlene
08-23-2012, 03:25 PM
(So I'm curious how did you know that they had gone through your bb if you weren't there? and re the gfs friends, so anytime someone you are dating has a friend that sees you out and they mention it that automatically means they are trying to send you the message that they are keeping an eye on you instead of just making conversation and why would that be a "smart move on their part" ?? On a personal level I can say I hope I never feel the need to do that again, I have gone out with lots of people that I would never dream of doing that too. I just need to be more selective in the future)

no, I would not.

Would you marry someone from a different religon and culture who was devout about both of them?

lilimarlene
08-24-2012, 03:39 PM

08-27-2012, 05:15 PM

(Affected accent - A posher accent than normal-again, I think it's applicable to certain regions/countries)

Woudl you spend 2 days doing purely volunteer work?

lilimarlene
08-30-2012, 04:25 PM
I have done so for more than 2 days , so yes.

Would you tell the truth if you were caught red hand or would you 'gaslight'?

Hawkman
08-30-2012, 05:32 PM
If you are caught in the act there's not much point in lying about it, I guess one could try and put a bit of spin on it, but most people can see through spin. It reminds me of a of sailor I knew, who, with a mate, decided it would be a good idea to knick the ship's crest off the front of the bridge on HMS Brighton. One stood on top of the bridge roof and kicked it until it came off, while the other waited below. They were both drunk. The crest was made of solid brass and weighed a rather a lot. If it had hit the chap waiting down on the foredeck it would have killed him. Fortunately it missed him and hit the deck with such a clang that it woke the stokers in their messdeck and brought the officer of the day running! The chap on the bridge roof did a runner, but the young lad on the foredeck was found holding the crest, declaring, "It wasn't me, Sir!" Needless to say he wasn't believed :D They both got jankers.

So getting back to the point; no, I wouldn't.

Would you outright lie in a job interview to further your own career?

Silas Thorne
08-30-2012, 05:48 PM
Of course. It's necessary for job interviews sometimes. I mean 'where do you see yourself in ten years?' 'Can you use (insert software product here)?' Employers want you to lie, it's all part of having a job interview. The job world is all about lies. Sometimes you just have to be able to lie convincingly and be able to support your lies with hard work later.

Would you pretend to like someone such as a bosses annoying spouse out of respect?

tonywalt

To a certain degree, I can only suffer fools when I know there is a time limit or an escape route, otherwise I'll start to show annoyance.

tonywalt
09-03-2012, 11:28 PM
(lil, i believe ya, no worries) just seeing if anyone would admit in first person.

tonywalt
09-04-2012, 04:54 PM
Hhmm, tough question to answer honestly- um, No. (The thought of men with power and status dating women for short term reasons..thinking outside the box there...)

Would you go on a date with a guy(at a later time,,days, weeks) that you had a wrong first impression(first 20 minutes of meeting)?

lilimarlene
09-04-2012, 05:11 PM
(oh, don't worry I can think outside the box, plenty of woman might take advantage of that dynamic as well)

yes, I would, I realise it is not easy for the regular guy to approach women, so I'm ok with a bit of nervousness and awkwardness, it actually can be charming. What I don't like is when men pretend to be something that they're not, they give off a strange vibe and something just doesn't feel right, that's when the warning signs go off. I did give someone like that a chance and and funny enough my first impression turned out to be right.

Would you pretend to be something you're not (hide your true personality). in order to date someone, knowing that you will eventually be found out?

BienvenuJDC
09-04-2012, 05:53 PM
I wouldn't give a false pretense ever. I am who I am.

Would you lie about an embarrassing situation/circumstance that is trivial (like blaming the passing of gas on someone else) to someone that you just met that you might be interested in?

lilimarlene
09-04-2012, 06:16 PM
First of all, as a lady, I do not not pass gas:frown2: and if something like that would happen perhaps to someone else, I would expect that everyone would either pretend it didn't happen or laugh it off.

Would you actually mention that it smelt like someone had passed gas to someone you were trying to impress?

tonywalt
09-05-2012, 10:10 AM

tonywalt

lilimarlene
09-05-2012, 06:35 PM

tonywalt
09-06-2012, 10:30 AM
Yes, but not soley for that reason.

Would you marry someone that you likely were already going to marry so that they could stay in the country?

lilimarlene
09-06-2012, 11:47 AM
sometimes a little pressure can make you take that leap of faith required to make a big commitment, especially if you realise what your life would be like without that person in it. But I would not make that decision unless I had already been seriously thinking of marrying them already.

Would you want to be forever 21 years old physically if it meant that you were also forever 21 financially?

tonywalt
09-06-2012, 01:49 PM

Would you date someone who flat out did not read and doesn't like to read?

lilimarlene
09-07-2012, 12:59 PM
I actually did. My friends could not believe that I was dating someone that didn't read. But we had lots of other things in common and he was able to fulfill my emotional needs, which for me is very important. He was a very smart(practical) and a very successful person that was worldly and sophisticated but he didn't have the patience for reading (I believe there was perhaps a problem w dyslexia) But he loved movies, music and was very adventurous and loving and for the time I saw him, he made me happy!

Would you be an alibi for a cheating friend even if you were friends with both the husband and the wife?

tonywalt
09-07-2012, 04:04 PM
(The vast majority of smart practical successful males don't read-I don't know any investment bankers, brokers, traders etc..who read. I could count the number of bookish guys who are super successful on no fingers){exception, some corporate lawyers do read}

Yea, i'd provide alibi. Turning a mate in for cheating is bad on so many levels.

Would you debate on Serious Discussion Thread(litnet)?

lilimarlene
09-07-2012, 04:20 PM
(he was a partner in a large international firm and worked very very long hours plus travelled and had to socialise for work so probably no time for much else, but are right about the lawyers)

I might, haven't so far.

Would you forsee a day that you may become more cynical about the world?

lilimarlene
09-10-2012, 04:09 PM
cynical as in "Given to sneering at rectitude and the conduct of life by moral principles; disbelieving in the reality of any human purposes which are not suggested or directed by self-interest or self-indulgence; as, a cynical man who scoffs at pretensions of integrity; characterized by such opinions; as, cynical views of human nature."

I highly doubt I will ever be like that. Though it's healthy to be a bit cynical sometime, a true cynical outlook means a loss of hope and joy...and I for one do not want to ever live that way.

Would you take credit for the work someone else had done if you could get away with it?

tonywalt
09-10-2012, 09:48 PM

lilimarlene
09-11-2012, 12:34 PM
no...I have been asked that before by well meaning people, while I was in a long term realationship and in front of the person I was involved with. The strange thing is that everyone assumed we weren't married because of he not wanting to marry me, when it was in fact the opposite. I was the gun shy one.

( I don't eat meat either)

Would you pretend to be someone you are not, to try to impress someone?

togre

lilimarlene
09-12-2012, 11:53 AM
Well it's never happened , but if it did and if being calm, logical and charming didn't work and I felt this person was being unreasonable , I would ask to see his/her superior. And yes, I would show my anger in a cool controlled sort of way. The most important thing for me would be to get myself out of the situation, so would use any tactic that I felt would work.
