God no. Not unless someone paid me

If you were a dinner guest at someone's house and found a dead bug in your food would you say anything or would you eat around it?

Sapphire
05-02-2009, 02:47 PM
I would probably overreact on it before I could even think about "being polite" and eating around it ...

Would you eat rice with a spoon or a fork?

NikolaiI
05-02-2009, 11:22 PM
With my hands usually. Usually if I eat rice it is with Indians, and they eat with their hands.

Would you count the rice before you eat it?

Shurtugal
05-03-2009, 01:00 AM
um no.
would you?

BienvenuJDC
05-03-2009, 07:28 AM
If I found reason to do so at the time, I might

Would you try eating your rice with chopsticks?

Sapphire
05-03-2009, 07:32 AM
I would try :) I like to play with my food. I guess it might get a bit frustrating when I was very hungry though....

Would you let a friend redecorate your room?

BienvenuJDC
05-03-2009, 07:37 AM
Yes...I got married...

Would you let a friend sort through your clothes to decide those you keep and those you give away?

papayahed
05-03-2009, 07:39 AM
Sure.

Would you let a friend get reid of all you cloths and then go shopping by themselves to replace it all?

Chava
05-03-2009, 10:49 AM
No reason to throw out perfectly usable clothes to buy new ones.

Would you wear a pair of pants to death?

Michael T
05-03-2009, 11:12 AM
Jeans and old comfortable tops...yes!

Would you wear second hand clothes?

Chava
05-03-2009, 11:37 AM
*checks clothes* It seems all I'm wearing is second hand...

Would you dare to fall in love?

Michael T
05-03-2009, 12:53 PM
Yes, I think so...though against my better judgement! ;)

Would you go into Space if offered a place on a Russian rocket?

NikolaiI
05-03-2009, 02:00 PM
Again?

Would you pose for a painting?

BienvenuJDC
05-03-2009, 02:27 PM
Yes, but I'd probably get distracted and st..............

oh...sorry....I'm back!!

Would you find me a worthy subject for your picture??

Moshu
05-03-2009, 02:55 PM
Yes, there's something within everyone that's worthy of a picture. And my pictures are nothing to be worthy of, anyway.

Would you die for the person you love the most right now?

BienvenuJDC
05-03-2009, 03:18 PM
If I would not die for another, then the person that I loved most would be me...but I WOULD die for another...many others...yes, I would

Would you risk dying to save a stranger's life?

Stargazer86
05-03-2009, 03:29 PM
I suppose the noble thing would be to say yes, but (boring though my life is) I have too much to live for that I wouldn't be willing to give up to be so selfless. My baby, above all. I would do everything in my power to save the stranger.

Would you read other people's minds if you had the ability to?

BienvenuJDC
05-03-2009, 03:31 PM
Yes...because I'm usually paranoid...I know that I shouldn't but I'm being honest

Would you read to your children...or just put a movie in?

Sapphire
05-03-2009, 03:31 PM
@ Stargazer
I know I should not, but I guess I would... That is a scary gift to have.

@BienvenuJDC
Depends on the night and on what they've been doing all day. I guess it will happen some day... Not every night though!

Would you return to live in the 19th century if you got the chance?

BienvenuJDC
05-03-2009, 03:33 PM
You're slow Sapphire

Yes I would...that would be so much fun...(what do you mean return...have I been there before and just not remember it?)

Would you go to the 19th century if you knew you couldn't get back?

Sapphire
05-03-2009, 03:37 PM
First idea: Yes. On thinking it over: I might get in trouble though, being a woman alone with no supporting family and no housekeeping skills ...
Ow heck - still Yes.

Would you vote if you did not like any of the candidates?

BienvenuJDC
05-03-2009, 03:42 PM
Yes...the lesser of evils is better than the greater of evils...

Would you prefer democracy over a monarchy if you could be assured of a great king (or queen)?

Stargazer86
05-03-2009, 03:54 PM
Yes I would still prefer democracy. Even a great king or queen will die one day, and then what? Although, I suppose it depends on how much power they have and if there are other government bodies involved in decision making (like Parliment in England). I'd be good with that.

Would you ever work for the CIA if it meant you had to spy or kill (or be killed)?

BienvenuJDC
05-03-2009, 03:57 PM
I would not, but I'm glad that someone does...although I don't always trust the governments intentions

Would you believe something just because the government or the media said it was documented?

Stargazer86
05-03-2009, 04:01 PM
Certainly not. I suppose it depends on the situation and how it was presented. But I don't take it at face value every single time just because they say to.

Would you testify against someone dangerous and go into the witness protection program if you were the only person who could make or break a case against afore mentioned dangerous individual?

Oniw17
05-03-2009, 05:20 PM
Only if I didn't like the said dangerous person on a personal level

Would you?

mono
05-04-2009, 11:57 AM
If that dangerous individual committed a crime, yes, in a heartbeat.

If you lived in poverty, what crazy things would you do to try to make money?

Oniw17
05-04-2009, 05:29 PM
The same things I do now. Which is almost entirely dependent on the circumstance I find myself in.

Would you temporarily trade soberness, carefulness, and a small portion of your vocabulary to be honest and talkative?

Scheherazade
05-04-2009, 06:20 PM
If I were even more honest and talkative, I would run the risk of being declared persona non grata on this planet so no.

Would you carry on reading a book you like even though you are expected to write about 10K words to complete your assignments?

Oniw17
05-04-2009, 06:34 PM
I would, but I'm a procrastinator to the core.

Would you continue writing for hours instead of going to hang out with friends?

Scheherazade
05-04-2009, 06:44 PM
Depends on what I am writing.

Would you consider working for McDonald's?

Oniw17
05-04-2009, 06:55 PM
I have considered it before, but I'd probably leave after first pay. I'm the opposite of a people person. I may still end up doing it though.

Would you climb the nearest tree and begin creating very loud sounds?

Moshu
05-04-2009, 07:58 PM
I have before, on a dare. Boogey-man noises. It was incredibly fun, especially since my neighbors already thought we were freaks of some sort...
Would you accept a tract from a stranger on the street?

BienvenuJDC
05-04-2009, 08:02 PM
Yes...and I'd discuss it with them

Would you listen to someone about religion if they could quote scripture?

Stargazer86
05-04-2009, 08:14 PM
This is common in my neighborhood and at my workplace. I've become very shut off to it. I suppose it depends on the manner in which I'm approached. If you start quoting scripture and lecturing (using a bullhorn on my front lawn shouting scripture in Spanish at my house full of people on Christmas wearing a Jesus T-shirt) I'll tell you to have a nice day and I'm not interested and walk away. If someone wants to have an intellectual discussion, I'm all for it.

Would you think differently about someone after finding out what religion they are?

BienvenuJDC
05-04-2009, 08:18 PM
Only if they were very pushy about it...but then it wouldn't be their religion that changed my mind...it'd be their attitude.

Would you please give me two Advil...I've got a splitting headache?

Stargazer86
05-04-2009, 08:21 PM
*hands Bienvenu some advil and a glass of water*

Would you bypass prenatal treatment and give birth at home if you had no insurance? (or if you're a guy- would you agree to your partner doing that)

BienvenuJDC
05-04-2009, 08:26 PM
No...after going through what we went through...we would have lost our baby girl...

Would you ever consider giving up a child for adoption?

Stargazer86
05-04-2009, 08:34 PM
Thank god you didn't! That thought is heartbreaking... (just for the record I'm an advocate of professional medical care esp pre natal)

No...I understand why some people do and think that's a great option for some and in the best interest of the child in certain cases. I just could never ever let my little one go.

Would you get mad if your child started calling you by your first name?

Silas Thorne
05-04-2009, 08:56 PM
No, I wouldn't get mad, but I'd try to stop it from happening any more. I'd like to be called 'dad' or 'baba'(the Chinese word for dad).

Would you like to learn how to use a quarterstaff?

papayahed
05-04-2009, 10:24 PM
No.

Would you cut off a pinky toe for $10,000?

Shalot
05-04-2009, 10:28 PM
Do I get anesthesia? Maybe.

Would you get your wisdom teeth pulled without anesthesia?

Silas Thorne
05-04-2009, 10:31 PM
no way.

Would you say three wishes is a good price for a human soul?

BienvenuJDC
05-04-2009, 10:40 PM
No

Would you ever eat out of the trash?

NikolaiI
05-04-2009, 10:58 PM
As a general rule, no. :D

If you it were raining, would you go outside?

BienvenuJDC
05-04-2009, 11:03 PM
If you it were raining, would you go outside?

Been speaking English much...;)

Yes, depending on how much it was raining...

Would you give mouth to mouth resuscitation to a stranger?

NikolaiI
05-04-2009, 11:05 PM
If there were no other way....

to get kissed...

Just kidding. ;)

Yes I would if I needed to.

Would you perform a tracheotomy on a stranger if their life depended on it?

Joreads
05-04-2009, 11:07 PM
No as I have no idea how to do it correctly.

Would y ou do a tracheotomy if someone talked you through it over the phone?

NikolaiI
05-04-2009, 11:12 PM
Yes, again, if I needed to. I saw it done on M*A*S*H* it doesn't seem too difficult actually. I would need someone to talk me through it though because I'm not sure I have all the steps understood correctly.

Would you ever visit a Buddhist Abbey?

Scoggy
05-05-2009, 04:33 AM
Sure. Why not?

Would you ever eat your underwear if you lost a bet?

Qinling
05-05-2009, 04:50 AM
never bet ~~~would you see the UFO?

a_little_wisp
05-05-2009, 05:01 AM
I would see it, and I would be torn between running from it or chasing after it.

Would you just stay awake if you woke up after four hours of sleep ?

PoeticPassions
05-05-2009, 05:34 AM
If I couldn't fall back asleep... though I would usually try to go back into slumber.

Would you ever try to reenact a dream (while sleeping) you had?

Silas Thorne
05-05-2009, 05:56 AM
It depends on what kind of dream it was. Though it is so hard to return once you've left the dreams behind and woken up.

Would you enjoy drinking chilli chocolate?

Michael T
05-05-2009, 06:05 AM
Don't know...going to have to try some now just to find out!

If, when out one evening, you came across a cash machine with a large amount of cash hanging in the dispenser draw, would you:

1) Leave it and walk on.

2) Take it and hand it in at the bank the next day.

3) Take, and keep it with a smile.

4) Other...and what?

Oniw17
05-05-2009, 10:06 AM
3,

If you were 1100 lbs. and got down to 180, Would you end up gaining the weight back soon after?

Eugenie
05-05-2009, 04:10 PM
How dreadful, absolutely not. I would find the reason I was ever at that and get help, lots of it and stick to a new lifestyle. And then I'd use my old clothes to make tents for the girl scouts, why waste right ? :)

Would you eat something that was green and should not be green because you were a guest in another country and the locals were rather touchy folk?

PoeticPassions
05-05-2009, 04:18 PM
yes, for sure. You have to engage in the local culture, and food is actually a pretty big part of that...

Would you ever run a 26 mile marathon?

*Classic*Charm*
05-05-2009, 04:29 PM
Sure, if I trained for it

Would you rather run a marathon or bike an even longer one?

Scheherazade
05-05-2009, 05:26 PM
Bike.

Would you go to bed early to read even though you have tasks to finish for the following day?

BienvenuJDC
05-05-2009, 05:46 PM
No...if I try to read in bed...I fall asleep anyway

Would you stay to read even though you needed to get up early (earlier than 11 AM;))

*Classic*Charm*
05-05-2009, 08:28 PM
I feel like this was directed at me, Bien haha

Yes, I would. I sleep better when I read before bed.

Would you quit reading whatever you're currently reading if a film version was released?

BienvenuJDC
05-05-2009, 08:33 PM
Absolutely not...watching the movie first ruins the book for me...because directors think that they can do it better...and they rarely do

Would you read a book first if you heard that they were releasing the movie?

zanna
05-06-2009, 01:37 AM
Yup! I've heard lots of hype about 21, but I don't want to see it until I've read the book (which sounds like beach-worthy fiction, as it is).

Would you read under the covers with a flashlight, if you are older than, say, 10?

Joreads
05-06-2009, 03:31 AM
No I can not see myself doing that

Would you sneak into a movie without paying just to see if you can

Sapphire
05-06-2009, 05:33 AM
Been there, turns out I can not... might have to try that one again :p

Would you go to your highschool reunion?

PoeticPassions
05-06-2009, 05:43 AM
Sure. It would be kind of fun to see how everyone has changed.

Would you ever invite a homeless person off the street to your house for a meal?

Chava
05-06-2009, 08:28 AM
Sigh, I'd love to say I would, but I probably wouldn't. But, I would gladly volunteer at the local free kitchen.

Would you ever be homeless?

mono
05-06-2009, 08:30 AM
I would like to think I could survive, but probably not on a long-term basis. I have honestly lived in poverty briefly, but living entirely without a home? Yikes!

Would you ever backpack across a whole continent?

Chava
05-06-2009, 08:36 AM
Have nearly done, would again.

Would you know how to pack your backpack before backpacking?

mono
05-06-2009, 08:49 AM
I would love to learn some tricks-and-trades before backpacking, but I have a so-so idea after scaling mountains and going on almost week-long hikes.

While traveling, would you consider yourself an over-packer or under-packer?

Chava
05-06-2009, 08:52 AM
Over packer; you can always give things away as you go. Getting better at underpacking though.

Would you like to smoke some waterpipe?

mono
05-06-2009, 08:57 AM
I could give it a try, but I would not call my lungs the healthiest for hookah after how much they have gotten beaten up by other ailments.

If you discovered you had a terminal illness, would you attempt a long, lifeless treatment to extend your time living, or would you allow yourself to pass away quickly without pain?

Chava
05-06-2009, 08:59 AM
Sigh, it's a tricky decision, because I'd feel obliged to the people I love, and the people who love me to try. But deep down, I might just go for the quick exit, and make the most of what little time I had.

What, would you do?

mono
05-06-2009, 09:05 AM
I would definitely allow myself to go quickly and peacefully. I have seen way too many of the unpleasant consequences of attempting to extend life, and, though I have seen a few so-called 'miracles,' most do not seem worth the suffering.

Would you ever take part in the Sea Stallion project?

Chava
05-06-2009, 09:08 AM
Yes, but it wouldrequire I really put my mind to it, and some serious training first, not just to handle the physical work, but to psyche myself up to face the fear of the ocean.

Would you compromise your beliefs to save another person?

mono
05-06-2009, 09:11 AM
Compromise? Perhaps. Postpone or set aside? Definitely. Toss out like yesterday's recycling? Never.

What would you do with a free basement or attic that had tons of space?

Chava
05-06-2009, 09:14 AM
Insulate it, Set up tons of shelves, a good light, and a sofa that was majestically comfortable, then fill it with books. Mmm.

When, would you, go native?

mono
05-06-2009, 09:18 AM
As in conforming to things, like measurement systems? We already use the metric system in medicine, so that one would come relatively quickly; the kilometer system would take some time; the Celsius thing would not fly.

When would you?

Chava
05-06-2009, 09:27 AM
I go native the minute I arrive somewhere, foods, water, toilet customs, you name it. I'm a travelling chameleon.

Would you join me under a blue umbrella, with stars, painted on the underside?

mono
05-06-2009, 09:33 AM
If with you, yes, but it takes a lot for an Oregonian to swallow his pride and huddle under an umbrella.

What other language would you learn, if given the chance?

Chava
05-06-2009, 09:36 AM
All of them! Arabic is number one on my list of languages to learn though.

Would you consider your passport one of your most valuable posessions?

mono
05-06-2009, 09:39 AM
Nowadays, yes, also considering what a pain it took to receive it on time! :rage:

Would you say that Denmark has fjords, or does only Norway have them?

PoeticPassions
05-06-2009, 09:40 AM
sure. I am privileged to have a U.S. passport (as a naturalized citizen) and be able to travel to many places without a visa, or easily get a visa... With a Bosnian passport people are virtually immobile... need a visa for everywhere, it is expensive, and a lot of the time you can be denied.

Would you consider yourself extremely privileged?

(I am too slow) and Chava can answer your Q, mono... :D

Chava
05-06-2009, 09:40 AM
I am privileged beyond belief!

Too slow: I live by a Fjord you silly boy. Can't you feel the Fjord mind?

Would you visit the land of the midnight sun?

mono
05-06-2009, 09:45 AM
I would not mind visiting it, sure, in the only land with fjords. ;)

Would you (and could you) survive healthily in a land so far north or south that it had 24 hours of sun or darkness?

BienvenuJDC
05-06-2009, 03:56 PM
I would definitely have to adjust, but I can survive anywhere...(you just have to change the expectation of your mind)

Would you leave your current country of residence if you found love in another?

PoeticPassions
05-06-2009, 04:11 PM
sure. I am quite the romantic... Love is hard to come by. But I love moving around anyway.

Same question.

BienvenuJDC
05-06-2009, 04:33 PM
Yes, I would...especially since where I live is so culturally young...

Would you try to walk on water just to see if you could...even though you were sure that you couldn't?

papayahed
05-06-2009, 06:32 PM
Yeah, the laws of physics might have been suspended in that area.

Would you steal your neighbors newspaper if you were sure no one would see you?

BienvenuJDC
05-06-2009, 07:03 PM
No...it is not mine

Would you get that newspaper in your underwear if you thought that no one would see you?

papayahed
05-06-2009, 09:25 PM
Yeppers.

I just got this in an email: If you saw me in the back of a police car, what would you think as to the reason why I had been arrested?

BienvenuJDC
05-06-2009, 09:42 PM
Indecent Exposure...

Would you wave to me...(that is if you weren't cuffed behind your back)?

Pensive
05-07-2009, 07:01 AM
Do I know you? :p

If you saw me in the back of a police car, what would you think as to the reason why I had been arrested?
Loved this question, so I guess I am going to use it too! :D

PoeticPassions
05-07-2009, 07:13 AM
for being involved in a protest/demonstration against the government and breaking some windows and such... :)

Would you ever do such a thing (above)?

BienvenuJDC
05-07-2009, 07:21 AM
No...vandalism is vandalism. I don't have a right to violate someone else because they aren't doing as I think that they ought to...

Would you commit socially unacceptable practices as long as they didn't hurt anyone?

Nightshade
05-07-2009, 08:17 AM
No...vandalism is vandalism. I don't have a right to violate someone else because they aren't doing as I think that they ought to...

Would you commit socially unacceptable practices as long as they didn't hurt anyone?

What like picking your nose in puiblic? Not sure I undertsand this one I guess it depends on what you mean by socially acceptable. I do have a tendancy to skip around and sing dancing in the rain ( very badly) when Im happy and its raining in public and I guess thast not really socially acceptable so yes why not?

I love this question: If you saw me in the back of a police car, what would you think as to the reason why I had been arrested?

BienvenuJDC
05-07-2009, 08:41 AM
You were picking your nose in a 'No Picking Zone' ;)

05-07-2009, 08:54 AM
Why shouldn't I? (confused)

Would you eat a sugary donut to cheer up?

PoeticPassions
05-07-2009, 08:55 AM
yes. It's a silly "rule" really. :)

Would you wear snake skin shoes?

BienvenuJDC
05-07-2009, 08:55 AM
Absolutely...to the donut...
and it's too funny that Poetic and I came up with these questions simultaneously...
(I wouldn't wear them anymore, but I did have a pair of snake skin boots when I was a kid)

Would you wear blue suede shoes?

PoeticPassions
05-07-2009, 08:56 AM
ah I am too slow... Silas, it is this silly thing in America that say that one shouldn't wear white after labor day... :)

I am not a big donut fan. But I would eat something sugary to cheer up, sure :)

same question as the one I posited above

TOO SLOW AGAIN! lol

Nightshade
05-07-2009, 09:51 AM
Not anymore, do you realise how difficult it is to keep suade shoes looking nice, and new?

Would you stand out in the pouring rain just to feel it rain?

Sapphire
05-07-2009, 09:52 AM
Yes, would and did and will :)

Would you stand out in the lightning to get a better view on it?

Nightshade
05-07-2009, 09:57 AM
eh no, well depends on whether it's fork or sheet lighting I guess.
If you gave yourself a black eye doing something stupid ( like waking into a door or a lampost) would you try and cover it up, go around making up stories about how you got it, or just tell everyone what you really did?

Would you juggle impact detonated bombs if you knew that if you didn't someone who trusted you would die?
( This question is a byproduct form me learning to juggle while watching scary movies. Not a good combination.)

PoeticPassions
05-07-2009, 04:54 PM
oh um.. my juggling skills are awful... uh.. uh... but yes. yes. I couldn't let someone die.

Would you run back into a burning house to save an enemy?

Michael T
05-07-2009, 05:01 PM
Do they owe me money? Ha ha...only joking. ;)

Yes, I think so!

Would you set fire to the house of an enemy?:D

Stargazer86
05-07-2009, 05:05 PM
No way. That's pretty f*cked up lol Maybe I'd think about it for a moment but if it gets past that, it's time for some major therapy!!

I would get the guts somehow to talk to that one and give himher a chance to make things right, or I would tell, absolutely. Their stealing robs others in need.
And then....................I would move during the night. :)

Would you give up your dryer to be more'green'?

Stargazer86
05-07-2009, 06:00 PM
I don't have a washer or a dryer now anyway :( I do my laundry at my mom's house and then hang the clothes to dry in the garage. It's not really to be more green though that's a benefit...
But if I had a washer and dryer I would use it.

Same question

BienvenuJDC
05-07-2009, 06:01 PM
No... I personally think that the big 'Green' movement right now is more commercially driven right now than anything else. Besides, with two little girls...we could never keep up with the laundry...

Would you give up your car to be 'Green'?

Would you eat something your pet had spat out?

skib
05-07-2009, 11:37 PM

skib
05-07-2009, 11:43 PM
I might be able to suck it up and hit the Beam, or if I'm desperate I'll go for some Captain or beer, unless there is some Makers Mark or Knob Creek, or I'd even go for some single malt Dalmore. If I ever ran out of Jack I would cry.

Would you date someone with a drinking problem?

PoeticPassions
05-08-2009, 03:26 AM

Would you climb a flagpole during a storm?

PoeticPassions
05-08-2009, 09:56 AM
(just wanted to comment on the meeting of people off the INternet... really, you can encounter anyone on any given day. You could meet someone totally crazy off the Internet or at a club, at a bookstore, in one of your classes, etc. So by meeting someone off of the Internet, you are not really raising any chances of meeting a serial killer or a psycho or whatnot. I know a lot of people that met the love of their lives on-line, and I have made some good friends that way... so anyway, I don't necessarily think it is something "dumb" to do... but one should always be careful. Just as you would be careful with any stranger)

anyway... just felt like sharing my opinion on it. Now to my answer to the q above:

Um, I don't know if I would necessarily even climb a flagpole. Don't see too much purpose in it, and it would be uncomfortable. I would climb a tree, though.

Would you stay with a significant other who got dressed up and left the house late without telling you where they were going?

Pensive

Probably wouldn't mind that much, it would be a bit weird, but still it's not a reason big enough to actually leave somebody you really care for....

Same question!

BienvenuJDC
05-09-2009, 09:00 AM
I would need to know where they were going...honest communication...they would owe that to you. Although I would not leave them based on that alone, I would require a change in that habit.

Would you investigate the destination of such an individual?

Stargazer86
05-09-2009, 01:14 PM
Well it will be my first mother's day so I don't know if they've even planned anything. I hope so, but I work until 18:00.

I usually go to my mom's or grandma's for dinner or something. But I get leftovers cause I work till 18:00 :(

How would you deal with mother's day if you lived with a child whose mother had abandoned him/her at a young age?
