View Full Version : Would You??
BienvenuJDC
06-26-2009, 11:56 PM
No...I've been there before myself...
(Ever hear of Pinhead? ...not worth the time or money to see)
Would you care to share your worst movie experience?
I have not had too many, luckily. :D I recall while watching Bad Education in theaters, however, someone sitting some 3 or 4 seats away from us had his phone on silent, per the rules, but left a short, but annoying enough, ringtone on his text messaging receiving tone, and proceeded to have quite a lengthy conversation - impressive, since the movie actually required a lot of attention to even remotely understand. I think he had some sort of sinus affliction, too, because it seemed like he blew his nose like a distorted tuba seemingly every 10 minutes.
Would you answer your ringing phone on an airplane immediately before take-off, if you knew you could cut the call really short?
(someone did this on my last planeride)
BienvenuJDC
06-27-2009, 01:48 AM
No way...I am a stickler for rules...
Would you ask someone to extinguish their cigarette in a No Smoking Section?
Stargazer86
06-27-2009, 01:55 AM
Yes, for a variety of reasons, even though I'm a smoker
Would you ever participate in a seance?
BienvenuJDC
06-27-2009, 02:00 AM

Would you wear a bikini at the beach?
Stargazer86
06-27-2009, 02:33 AM
Not since having the baby
Would you lay out in the sun with no sunscreen to work on your tan?
BienvenuJDC
06-27-2009, 02:39 AM
yes...the sun helps a skin condition I have
Would you tan all over?
Stargazer86
06-27-2009, 02:43 AM
No. I'm quite pale, in fact. I have to wear sunscreen because of how sunny it always is here. I think I'd look odd with a tan anyway. When I was 15 I had a little phase of wanting to be tan and blonde so I got some fake tanner...picture iodine on the skin...yeah...not pretty. And I look horrid as a blonde
Would you ever do something for the sake of shock value?
papayahed
06-27-2009, 07:58 AM
oh maybe once or twice.
would you walk out on a movie you didn't like?
BienvenuJDC
06-27-2009, 12:26 PM
Probably not...I'd wait for it to get better...(except if it just wasn't going anywhere)
Would you go to the bathroom outside if you couldn't get to a bathroom?
Stargazer86
06-27-2009, 02:28 PM

Would you go out of the house in plaid shorts and a hawaiin print shirt?
amanda_isabel
06-27-2009, 02:41 PM
I don't think so :D
Would you ever wear a hawaiian shirt?
NikolaiI
06-27-2009, 03:00 PM
Yeah.
Would you cook banana bread for your neighbour?
amanda_isabel
06-27-2009, 03:09 PM
I guess it depends on the neighbor!
Would you cook brownies for a stranger?
NikolaiI
06-28-2009, 12:14 AM
Yes.
Would you cook brownies at all?
amanda_isabel
06-28-2009, 12:40 AM
I can't really say for now.
Would you ever say yes to being interviewed for a bandwagon type commercial?
The Comedian
06-28-2009, 09:48 PM
Sure. Sounds fun.
Would you eat an Oreo cookie that you found in the back seat of your car (and you don't really know how old it is)?
NikolaiI
06-28-2009, 09:53 PM
No!!!
Would you ever take a drink of water from a river?
papayahed
06-28-2009, 09:56 PM
Sure.
Would you dress up as your favorite character and go to the movie premiere?
The Comedian
06-28-2009, 09:57 PM
Yes. And I've done so on many occasions. (I once went on a canoe trip for a month where I drank exclusively from river. . .directly, no filter, no nuthin'. Just a cup.). But, aside from cases of desperation, I've done so only when I felt fairly certain of the water quality.
Would you ever peek into someone else's grocery cart at the market?
NikolaiI
06-29-2009, 01:16 AM
Sure.
Would you ever talk to someone you didn't know, like if they had dogs you liked and were curious about?
Tsuyoiko
06-29-2009, 04:55 AM
Possibly, but they would have to be doing something really interesting to me, like reading Dostoevsky.
Would you get naked on a webcam?
kingoflombards
06-29-2009, 12:56 PM
That is disgusting (besides, I don't think the web cam could hold my weight...)
Why would you ask that kind of question in the first place?
Olga4real
06-29-2009, 03:13 PM
I wouldn't, but if I would, I would only for fun.
Would you give up everything for love?
Beautifull
06-29-2009, 07:15 PM
if it was the real thing, heck yeah! now if it was only the other side, or only me, heck no.

Would you dance madly in rain even after knowing that hundreds of people are watching you?
PoeticPassions
06-30-2009, 06:10 AM
if I felt like dancing, sure.
Would you?
Tsuyoiko
06-30-2009, 07:25 AM
Why would you ask that kind of question in the first place?
To see what reaction it would get? ;)
I wouldn't dance madly in the rain if hundreds of people were watching, but I have danced in the rain when only one person was watching.
Would you become a vegetarian?
Olga4real
06-30-2009, 11:31 AM
I would if it makes me look better. :-)
Would you sleep with a snake?
Likely not - they do not seem quite as soft and comforting as my cats, but I still would not mind having one as a pet.
What musical instrument would you like to learn fluently, if you had the chance?
The Comedian
07-01-2009, 10:14 AM
The harmonica -- I mean, you could put that instrument in your pocket and pull it out whenever the occasion called for music.
If you found some original, handwritten notes from a famous author at (say) a garage sale, would you donate them to a museum or keep them in your private collection?
 As a rare-book collector, one ought to expect my answer. If the author did not mean a whole lot to me, however, I would get it authenticated, and probably donate it either to a library or museum.
Same question. ;)
NikolaiI
07-01-2009, 03:57 PM
I would sell them if possible.
Would you say you have good handwriting?
BienvenuJDC
07-01-2009, 05:05 PM
No...I prefer printing anyway (and that's not that great)
Would you crawl through a crawl space (under a building) that you weren't sure what lived there (critters)?
PoeticPassions
07-01-2009, 05:54 PM
That depends on the reasoning behind my crawling... if it was my only means to get out or if I was trying to escape or whatnot, then yes. Just for the heck of it? Most likely no.
Would you wander through an underground sewer system to see where you might end up? :)
BienvenuJDC
07-01-2009, 06:24 PM
Yes...since those kind of sewers are storm sewers (not poop sewers)...

IJustMadeThatUp
07-01-2009, 07:31 PM
I suppose, if it felt right.
Same question :)
BienvenuJDC
07-01-2009, 09:56 PM
No...I didn't kiss my wife for several...well actually she kissed me first.
Would you engage in further "activities" within the first 5 dates?
PoeticPassions
07-02-2009, 03:29 AM
I don't think there should be rules in love... life is unpredictable, spontaneous, and human desires and lust are strong forces. So yes, and no, and depends.
Would you sleep with someone that you did not/do not love?
NikolaiI
07-02-2009, 03:51 AM
No, I wouldn't.
Would you love someone (romantically) you haven't slept with?
Tsuyoiko

Would you call in sick to work if you weren't really sick?
papayahed
07-02-2009, 07:28 AM

Would you continue to wear a pair of shoes that you liked even if everybody you knew commented on the ugliness of those shoes?
Olga4real
07-02-2009, 11:44 AM
I definitely would, there is no question! If I find them fashionable and believe that they suit me, plus they are comfortable I will wear them!
Would you dance all night long till the morning restlessly?
Likely not, since I dance about as gracefully as an elephant with an inner ear infection. I took a few years of swingdancing, and loved it at the time, but, with even more years of no practice, I have probably lost a lot of that talent.
Would you ever take dancing lessons, and for what kind of dancing?
IJustMadeThatUp
07-02-2009, 08:13 PM
I would, and I have :) Dancing is fun! I'd probably do swing dancing or hip hop, I've done both before and enjoyed it.

BienvenuJDC
07-03-2009, 09:07 AM
Luckily I don't have a sister...IT'S MINE...muahhahhahaha
EDIT: Brave...I am...STUPID...I am not!!
Would you let me have your Reese chocolate too? :D
papayahed
07-03-2009, 09:25 AM
Sure.
Would you rather have an unlimited supply of stylish handbags or shoes? (Guys can substitute jackets for handbags)
With the great variety of weather the Pacific NW has, I would opt for jackets.
Would you feel more inclined to go high mountain-climbing, where the air gets scarce, or deep-sea diving, where, of course, air also gets scarce?

The Comedian
07-06-2009, 10:58 AM
No.
Would you wait for things to get better or would you set out to change them?
Beautifull
07-06-2009, 11:49 PM

At the grocery store -- Would you, driven by a nosy curiosity, ever peek at someone else's grocery cart.
PoeticPassions
07-08-2009, 10:35 AM
Sure, I do it sometimes if I am waiting at the check out line. More out of boredom. But it is interesting to see what people buy...
Would you buy an item on sale (at the grocery store) that you have never tried before, just because it was on sale?
The Comedian
07-08-2009, 10:41 AM
Oh yes. I buy sale items quite frequently in the spirit of frugal culinary adventure.
(I peek into grocery carts too. :p But I always feel guilty about it for some reason -- like I'm peeking into their closet or something).
Would you put up a picture (artwork) that a friend or relative gave that you didn't particularly like?
PoeticPassions
07-08-2009, 10:44 AM
hmm, good question... not sure... I guess I would put it up somewhere where it wasn't that visible. Or only when that friend came over hahahaha (j/k)
Would you ever re-gift a gift?
I could, sure, but I would forever feel awful and have a guilty conscience.
Would you consider yourself a risk-taker or more cautious?
Olga4real
07-08-2009, 03:49 PM
Both, when it's about me I am a risk-taker but if it's about my kids, I am very cautious.
The same question
Scheherazade
07-08-2009, 06:44 PM
I think I would call myself a cautious risk-taker!
Would you have ice-cream minutes before going to bed?

Of course!...tehehe, even though it's something i was taught not to!:D
would you give a homeless person a bath? (this requires them to come into your house, and use your guest bathroom! think real hard about it!)
Giving homeless individuals any spare money in my pockets, giving them food, or I have even given one the hat off my head in the snow seems a few favors, but bringing them into my home seems another matter; I think I would sooner assist them into a hostel.
Indeed, still a "would you" question, but along the lines of homelessness, let us say you just won the $1 million lottery, and just exited the bank, cashing your lump sum, to find a homeless individual asking if you could "spare some change." How much would you spare?
Beautifull
07-08-2009, 10:42 PM
$10...and the change in my cup holder. i know it sounds mean, but what if that money was going to bills, or admission to college or something?
would you give a homeless guy a ride?
Olga4real
07-09-2009, 03:42 PM
Sure, after mono let him to use her bathroom. :D
Seriously I would if he is not drunk. I actually was given a ride by a homeless guy - I didn't know he was homeless, when I realised it was too late, I was sitting in his car. It was not easy to leave him politely after the ride.
If you are a woman, would you date a guy who is 10 cm shorter than you?
Beautifull
07-09-2009, 06:25 PM
nope...he definitely has to be my height or taller....i hate cringing my head
if you were a guy, would you date a woman taller than you?
As a guy who stands 5'6 (about 168 cm), I have not had many options in the past; I have dated a few women slightly taller than me, but not significantly taller, maybe only 2-3 inches - to me, a good proportion means more than height.
Okay, a somewhat similar question: would you ever date someone with an obvious but unimpeding physical defect (cleft palate, clubfoot, severe overbite, kyphosis/lordosis ["humpback" curvatures of the spine])? :brow:
Beautifull
07-10-2009, 12:51 AM
ummm.....i don't really know...if he was so nice that i had to love him, then yeah...that's only if i've fallen head over heels...i doubt it though...but who knows
if you were a book, what would you be?
Mathor
07-10-2009, 01:35 AM
A Clockwork Orange.
Same question.
A good one, likely a narrative, very introspective, written in a first-person tense, thereby biased and opinionated, but also philosophical, rational, and poetic.
Along the same lines, if you were a play, what would you be?
Joreads
07-10-2009, 07:14 AM

*Classic*Charm*
07-16-2009, 02:17 AM

Where would you go on your ideal vacation?
NikolaiI
07-16-2009, 01:02 PM
No. I hate liars.
Indeed, that seems one of my biggest pet peeves, whether it appeared for my "benefit" or not.
Yay! hehe.
Um, I have so many places, Mono. Vancouver Island, Vrindavana or Mayapur (in India), China, Japan, Russia, Peru (I think?), Jamaica,... not in any order.
Would you get annoyed if someone was singing non-stop?
I would never call myself short-tempered, but I certainly get annoyed easily by some things, especially if one catches me in the wrong mood; unnecessary noise, or "noise pollution," definitely seems one of those things that irritates me easily.
What would you call your favorite age, and why?
The Comedian
07-17-2009, 07:16 PM
I think my favorite "age" would be the Old West, USA. I know a lot of the stories romanticize the hardships of both pioneers and native; that is was a prejudiced, uneducated trough of place. But, to see 6,000,000 buffalo on the fields of Wyoming, North Dakota. . .to see the mountains before "civilization", to see the tall grass lands of Nebraska. . . . that would be worth a lifetime.
I like the question mono -- let's hit "repeat"!
kiz_paws
07-18-2009, 01:28 AM
Well, I kind of read Mono's question as what was my favorite age -- a year that I lived -- as opposed to my favorite age -- as in era.
So: my favorite age would have to have been when I turned 21. Now that was fun. SO MUCH FUN! I think that was the best year of my life.
AND my favorite era would be the Victorian times. Ahhhh, to be in a Paris salon listening to Chopin play his latest and sip wine..... ;)
My question to the next poster -- Would you ever go to a camp that had no 'modern' conveniences of any sort for two weeks? We're talking outhouses, coal oil lamps ... you get the pic...
Two weeks? I think I could do it, and have some fun, so long as it involved more than that - hiking, relaxing, cooking with less-modern utensils - how else does camping work?
Would you ever invest in the Stock Market?
Joreads
07-18-2009, 06:44 AM

Would you like to go to the moon?
