Would you eat out of a bowl that yours/or someone elses dog has just licked? (let's see you handle that question)
loki456

Silas Thorne

No, not without washing it in a serious disinfectant and scrubbing it with washing liquid.
Would you give money to a small child that was begging for money on the subway, even though the child was almost certainly doing it on someone else's behalf?
That is a tough one for me, as I am into children and hate child poverty. I probably would be gullible enough to do so - so yes I would.

probably not, don't have subways where I am.
would send money to a charity that feeds starving children, when you know that charity takes 50% of the money collected to give to organisations that run their funding campaigns?
Another tough one. I am very weary of who I donate to and always do my homework first. If they profit half the donations then I probably won't. The fact is that there are many organisations around and you have to know which ones are worthy to donate to.
Would you give $5,000.00 to a friend who asked for it, but wouldn't tell you the reason why he/she needed it?

Would you allow a friend or family member, if s/he offered, to take you out to dinner, even though you knew s/he struggles financially?
Maryd.
11-18-2009, 03:54 PM
No, my family and I (even some friends) know where we stand financially. I'm not rich and nor is anyone I know. However I can afford food on the table and I know a very close family member who can't. So whenever we go out, I pay. Most of the time we eat in at my place and sometimes when I visit her I take some groceries. But I never offer cash. As there are some people in life, that just sponge off others.
If you owed a friend money, but you couldn't afford it and you knew this friend was becoming irate with you, would you borrow it off someone else or ask your friend to be patient?

loki456
11-24-2009, 06:15 PM

would you kill your little brother for eating your chocolate, when he knew you only had one meal a week that consisted of whatever you wanted. (other times are gym dedicated, high protein bland foods that make you want to cry)

I am a walker... You know the type. Take the dog out for a 20 minute walk and come back an hour later, park a mile away from your destination, or don't take the car at all. Tremill, powerwalk... Force the poor kids to walk when mum gets a stress attack. I love walking.
Would you do what your partner asks you to do, even if you do not believe what they asked you to do, was right?
loki456
11-24-2009, 10:22 PM
wow! you just asked the exact same question my girlfriend asked me in bed last night. did you two talk (i'm suspicious). the answer I gave her was this, if I didn't think that the action would hurt anyone, including us and our relationship than I would. appeasment is not a hard thing to accomplish. I don't think doing something that you think is a waste of time, or doesn't need to be done just to show that person you do listen to them, is not wrong. however, if I think that the long term effects of such an action would be harmful, then I would discuss my concerns and try to aim for at least a compromise. I'm not usually one to care what someone thinks of me, and can be quite brash at times, but when it comes to someone I care about, I try to either be taught or teach from the experience.
same question i like it!
Maryd.
11-24-2009, 10:26 PM
Was hoping you wouldn't throw it back... So here goes. Have done what someone wanted me to do in the past and it ended horribly bad. So honestly will never do it again. Like yourself - next time - would ask for a compromise.

would you eat cereal for dinner even though there is a juicy steak on the table?
Heathcliff
11-25-2009, 06:32 AM
No. If I have the option of a juicy steak, and the results would not differ from those of eating the cereal, I'd prefer it.
Would you do something you know isn't right, just because thet option is available?
loki456
11-25-2009, 07:23 AM
interesting.... there are times, when we want to play a joke, that we do things knowingly they are not the right things to do, but also know they'll be taken in jest. but there are times that people are guilty of doing things they know are not 'socially acceptable' just to see how the dice rolls as they say. I do the former, and even though i am fond of finding and testing those social boundaries as in the latter, because really, who has the right to tell us what is fair and just, I would never encroach on someone's free will. just a policy i feel is good to live by.
would you do something you think is right when visiting another country that believe's the same thing is wrong?
Maryd.
11-25-2009, 08:27 AM

It depends though.
Would you quote someone to themselves when you have a point, because they know how they felt?
Sure, if it would serve an adequate purpose; I quote people all the time, regardless, even though "it is unbecoming for young men to quote maxims" (Aristotle).
