(This has happened to me...I couldn't do it)

03-09-2009, 02:52 AM
Well, I wouldn't not do it just because it was my favourite animal. But the circumstances for eating that particular animal woul have to be unsual.

Would you put too much garlic on your garlic bread?

PoeticPassions

Would you sell your soul to be rich?

Oniw17
03-09-2009, 01:23 PM
Not even if I thought I had a soul(because if I did it would probably be some crucial essense of myself, and being rich would be pointless without being full enough to enjoy it).

03-11-2009, 04:56 PM

PoeticPassions
03-12-2009, 11:39 AM
ah, well, I want to say no... but alas, I am driven by my emotions and my sexual desires... so I think that if I were extremely attracted to that person, physically and mentally, or if I were to fall in love or feel a spark/chemistry, then I suppose I would throw caution to the winds.... act no, think later type of philosophy (though I am less impulsive as I grow older...)

would you ever pose nude for an artistic purpose? (ie for an artistic magazine, for an exhibition, as the subject of a photographer who does nudes, etc)

mono
03-12-2009, 01:57 PM

If you had belongings you wanted to get rid of, would you sell them or donate them?

PoeticPassions
03-12-2009, 05:17 PM
Donate them. (I don't like perpetuating materialism, but if an item can be useful to someone who might not otherwise have the means to own that item, then we must share and pass it on)

(oh and, let's see that charcoal painting! ;) :P)

Well, publicly, yes. ;)

Would you shoot a poacher for killing Elephants or Gorillas?

That's a really emotive question. As an animal rights enthusiast I'd love to say yes and show my moral fibre, but there's a doubt in the back of my mind as to whether the balance of an elephant life and a human life is equal, and the killing of the poacher thus justified.

I'll say yes and hope I won't ever be in the situation but put that ideology to the test.

Ah haha that makes me think of a funny story...I'd say no, but that would be a lie.

Same question!

PoeticPassions
03-20-2009, 05:54 PM
Probably not... unless I used a different disguise every time!

Would you ever steal a car if it was an absolute emergency and you really needed it?

The Comedian

Yes.

If it were possible to change genders then change back to your original gender (a la Woolfe's Orlando), would you do it just to see how the other half lives/thinks?

*Classic*Charm*
03-20-2009, 08:11 PM
Nah, that would take all the fun out of everything...though would also be extremely useful...hmm...

Same question!

mono
03-20-2009, 08:22 PM
I think it would seem interesting not so much to discover how the other lives or thinks, but more how the other gets treated, such as by chivalrous men, service at a restaurant or other public place, and things like that. My only fear: not that I feel the most attractive man, I would make one ugly woman.
This reminds me of an occurrence at a special store for soaps, shampoos, hygeine products, etc. As a man, yes, I admit one of my guilty pleasures, as using nice soaps, shaving creams, and such things. A female friend of mine and I entered the store once for things I wanted to buy - she had no interest in the place; as the saleswoman approached us, she directed every word towards my female friend, ignoring me, assuming we came there for her purpose. My friend and I still laugh about it! Weird, eh?

Would you undergo hypnotism for any reason?

Chava
03-21-2009, 03:17 AM
None that I can think of, though I wouldn't mind trying for the hell of it.

Would you like to know how the magician performs his tricks?

jhonerliz
03-21-2009, 10:46 AM
yes. it's interesting for me to know their tricks.

would you train your pet to earn money?

PoeticPassions
03-21-2009, 10:58 AM
um, no, that sounds pretty awful... I think it is bad enough people dress their pets up...
I would teach it some tricks, sure, but definitely not for money. I think it would be more interesting if I did tricks anyway! (if I really needed the money)

Would you kill one person to save the lives of 100 people?

Zee.
03-21-2009, 11:02 AM
If that person was someone i loved then no, never. Not for anything.

Would you cut off your feet or hands?
...

Chava
03-21-2009, 12:37 PM
Neither, but I suppose I cold live without my feet, they were always a little odd, I love my hands.

Would you live in a house with a thatched roof?

Sapphire
03-21-2009, 12:40 PM
Definately, I think it is beautiful :) And current techniques really diminish the risk of fire, though it stays a risk.

Would you lie at work about being sick to get a day of?

*Classic*Charm*
03-21-2009, 12:46 PM
Nope. I actually am sick a lot, so I need all the days I can get for that.

Would you quit a job if they wouldn't give you time off for something important?

Chava
03-21-2009, 12:48 PM
Hmm, I can't make a passing statement like that, I'm not sure, and I do need my job. But I can envision occasions where I might feel cornered. Fortunatly my boss is reasonable and lets me off for all sorts of silly reasons.

Would you backtalk a colleague?

mono
03-21-2009, 02:26 PM
Okay, I will admit one of my faults as impatience, and especially at work I tend to get a little easily frustrated. I have never raised my voice, but there have existed a few times where I have back-talked two fellow nurses and one doctor, after they said some un-nice thing; in all three cases, I feel I had justification, however, while sticking up for my patients' benefits.

If your writings got published, would write under a pen-name or your real name?

Chava
03-21-2009, 02:28 PM
Haha, I kinda like my name, however, I also like the idea of not getting recognised for a work. I'd have to think of a really neat pen name though... Nice Question

Would you make snow angels, or prefer snowball fights?

mono
03-21-2009, 02:36 PM
Both have their appropriate time and place, but I do have relatively good aim with snowballs.

Would you prefer to master skiing or snowboarding?

Chava
03-21-2009, 02:40 PM
Haha, how arrogant would it be to say I've got the first one down pat....No seriously, I'd really like to become an excellent snowboarder.

Would your ski/board suit be a one piece?

mono
03-21-2009, 02:45 PM
I would probably look ridiculous, but, for starting out, I would probably stick with a one-piece, since while attempting to ski or snowboard, I spend more time on my back and stomach than I do on the skis or snowboard; a one-piece would prevent snow from getting under your clothing, which can sting a bit.

Would you ever let your parents move in with you?

Chava
03-21-2009, 02:47 PM
I wouldn't let my dad move in with me. My mom is always welcome, but niether of us would want to live like that for a very long time. Some bonds just change when you move out, and it's difficult to try and make the old return.

If you let someone crash for the night, would you take the sofa?

mono
03-21-2009, 02:52 PM
I could go either way, as both my bed and sofa feel very comfortable; for obvious reasons, I prefer my bed, but it depends on the guest. If one of my parents or grandparents, I would take the sofa, but otherwise, too bad, guests, I get the bed.

Would you ever let a good friend or sibling of yours stay with you temporarily, rent-free, until they 'got on their feet'?

Chava
03-21-2009, 02:56 PM
Yeah, of course. But they'd damned well have to help with the cleaning, and by the looks of him the last week or two, it'd be a very temporary stay.

Would you paint your walls in bold colours?

mono
03-21-2009, 02:58 PM
Preferably, yes, but warm colors.

If you could get a free consultation from an interior designer, but you could only have him/her design one room of your place, which room would you choose?

Chava
03-21-2009, 03:01 PM
Hmm, probably the kitchen.

Same question

mono
03-21-2009, 03:07 PM
I would feel more apt to knock down all the walls of my apartment, and call my entire place one room, so s/he would design them all; then I could re-build the walls later.

If someone wrote a song about you, what genre of music would you prefer?

Chava
03-21-2009, 03:11 PM
Certainly a jazz tune, possibly with a rock Sax. Something like Louis Prima's Sing, Sing, Sing, (with a swing)

I'm saying this a lot tonight, but I can't help it, same question...

mono
03-21-2009, 03:14 PM
Probably classical - something simple, maybe even with only a piano and cello, though I would think it quite funny to have a reggae or polka song about me.

If you could schoolteach any subject as a career, what subject would you teach?

Chava
03-21-2009, 03:15 PM
Geography and humanities

Would you approve of detentions?

mono
03-21-2009, 03:20 PM
Nah, I do not see remaining at school after school hours as a suitable punishment; school ought not to seem a place to hate having to stay at, but, just think of it, a place for learning. One former highschool teacher of mine had an interesting way of punishing students for misbehavior - if a student kept misbehaving in class, s/he would have to sit in the very front of the class, and handwrite every spoken word by anyone in the class, including the teacher's lecture.

If you did teach, would you probably seem like the strict or playful teacher?

theoryofsilence
03-21-2009, 03:36 PM
strict but playful at the same time. not all kids learn the same way so you have to figure out what ways fit best. experimentation.

Would you be able to live without music?

03-22-2009, 03:35 PM
Hmmmm I guess yes. The life wouldn't probably be that much enjoyable but I will still be able to survive I think.

Same question!

Eugenie
03-22-2009, 03:38 PM
Well...........I would talk to him about it first and see what he thought. :). If I were poor and could not earn money any other way, then yes. But I would make sure I played with my pet and made up to him for all his work on my behalf.

Would you marry someone you did not love like they did in Jane Austen's time to have a load of money and be able to help your family?

browneyedbailey
03-22-2009, 03:43 PM
I REFUSE TO MARRY WITHOUT LOVE!!! For without it, what would i do with myself?

Same question!

Pensive
03-22-2009, 04:13 PM
Perhaps. Depends upon the circumstances. I don't care much about 'loads of money' but if I had none I might even marry somebody with little amount of money so I can provide some food and shelter to my family. But in the present conditions, no. Don't think I need that much of money or that my family needs any help.

Same question!

Scheherazade
03-22-2009, 05:05 PM
If my family so desperately needs the money, I might.

Would you hide your true reading "pleasures" to impress others?

MissScarlett
03-22-2009, 06:21 PM
No. My true reading pleasure tend to be the classics, but even if they were bodice rippers, I wouldn't hide it. I think people have a right to read whatever they like and enjoy it without interference from others.

If you were coveting a book and couldn't afford one, then saw one of your friends had it, would you steal it?

Tournesol
03-22-2009, 06:25 PM
No, I wouldn't steal it. But I would ask very nicely, and very persistently, to borrow it. I may even offer very nicely, but very firmly, to purchase it from them.

Would you break the red light late at night on a lonely road?

*Classic*Charm*

Probably not.

Same question!

MissScarlett
03-23-2009, 01:05 PM
I'd have the courage, but I would probably try to phrase it in a nice way. No need to be rude to anyone, feel superior, or hurt anyone's feelings.

Same question.

The Comedian
03-23-2009, 01:18 PM
Nope. The extent of my cowardice knows no boundary.

Would you tell your kid there's no such thing as magic (magic wands, unicorns. ..), or would you play along with her belief until she found out on her own?

Scheherazade
03-23-2009, 06:44 PM
Probably play along while gently preparing them for the truth.

Would you post in this thread even though you cannot think of a question to ask?

Not in a million years.

Would you pretend to dislike a book because your best friend dislikes it?

The Comedian
03-23-2009, 07:38 PM
Depends, if I was indifferent about said book, I'd probably play along with the the dislike card for a while. If I loved the book, I'd just say that I loved it.

If you could tell someone was uncomfortable, would you try to make them feel better or encourage the awkwardness?

The Comedian
03-23-2009, 08:39 PM
Help them to feel comfortable. I've been uncomfortable too many times. It sucks when it happens to me; I image other people think it sucks too.

PoeticPassions
