No, my mother chose never to be a part of my life for the last 20 years. I don't plan on forgiving her anytime soon.

Would you ever desert your children?

would you ever come to Lebanon JUST to meet me?

papayahed
07-29-2007, 05:05 PM
Sure.

If, while out in public you realize you were wearing dark underware that can be seen through your white shorts would you remove the underware or walk around all day with the underware showing through your shorts.

Shalot
07-29-2007, 05:25 PM
I think I would rather keep the underwear on, rather then removing them. It's what's under the underwear that you don't want to show off in public. Actually, I think I'd duck into a clothing store and buy a new pair of shorts or tie a sweatshirt around my waist or something.

That's funny - pass the question

kiz_paws
07-30-2007, 02:05 PM
Well, I wouldn't really give a wahooey what people thought. Heck, at least I had SOMETHING under the shorts would be my thought, lol!

Would you learn a new (to you) and complicated language if you were paid 100 dollars (US) a month?

Orpheus
07-30-2007, 07:00 PM
"would you rather change your past or yourself?"

Are they not rather the same thing? Do not the choices that we make define who we are and who we become? If you were to change a part of your past, you would likely be changing yourself as well.

I'm planning on learning french this year. Although I don't suppose it is all that "complicated."

I've done it.

I liked this question from a few posts back: would you take your grandmother in when she got old?

Pendragon
08-01-2007, 12:54 PM
Unfortunately, I was sick so much I usually had to take up my vacation days to keep from getting fired! Then I would work all the overtime I could volunteer for when I was well. It wasn't until my final crash that the personal manager called me in and told me he finally understood me. He said he had never been able to figure me out. I missed so much time each year, yet I worked harder and more hours than almost anyone else anyway. He said he finally understood. And to make things right with me for some things that had happened, they kept me on payroll and paid me full salry for more than a year after I had crashed and if I had been able to come back and work 1 week, they would have paid me for six more months. I had no trouble with my disability.

Sorry. Posted and didn't refresh. This is Virgil's question:
Would you take in your grandmother when she gets old?

Granny5
08-01-2007, 12:57 PM

Pendragon
08-03-2007, 09:40 AM
If I thought that advance in Science would be something like a cure for AIDS or Cancer, or any number of horrible diseases that decimate humanity, yes, I think I would. People whose self-destructive lifestyles land them with a horrible disease sometimes it is hard to feel sorry for them, but they are human. But they pass the illness on to children born to die. Their smoking kills family who doesn't smoke. Cures are needed. And some illnesses are just plain heretitary.

Would you ever date one of your teachers?

Pensive
08-06-2007, 11:09 AM
First of all, as a personal choice, I think I would never feel like dating anyone. But who knows this person choice will change someday! But at the moment, a big fat no!

And anyway, I have two male teachers. One is a Chemistry teacher (who would be teaching us the following year properly but he has taken our class once) and his daughter is my age fellow, and studies with me. So no way! He is not much younger than my father! The other one is a music teacher, also quite old. And this thought of dating one of them just seems very very disturbing!

Would you find the thought of dating one of your teachers disturbing?

No. . . If I'm going to date someone, I'd have to be comfortable with them and that doesn't make me feel too comfortable. I'd be friends with them, sure, but it just wouldn't feel "right" to date them. I dunno. . .

If you were offered the chance of extreme wealth and fame as long as you never read a book again, would you take the offer?

yes I would. I would then hire someone to read the books to me (you didn't say anything about that)

I'm packing my bags as we speak.

Where would you rather spend the afternoon - and amusement park or a beach?

Beach, preferably a deserted one. I don't go to the beach for the people, I go for solitude. Cape Hatteras National Seashore at the times I usually go can have miles of beach and hidden coves where whomever you take with you is the only ones there. Get out on the beach at night and catch crabs using a flashlight and hot-dog tongs for steaming over a driftwood fire, find stuff drifted in... that is The Graveyard of the Atlantic, so many sunken ships a map looks like someone shot it.. Fun city!

Would you return to your youth (Make it five, to take in the younger population) with your knowledge of today and relive your life?

Well, with the cool million, I'd purchase a bookstore and thus have all the books I ever needed right there.

Then I'd purchase a lighthouse and use that as my get-away to do some serious writing. That is something that I can only dream of doing....

And finally, I'd set up my dear friend from Venezuela into a nice place where he'd never have to worry again.

Great question, I'll pass the same onto you, oh next poster!

Probably very little, I'd still go to the library. No need to own more books. in fact I think I have too many already and have decreed that I can't buy anymore new books until I read and get rid of some of the ones I already own.

Same Question:

If I won a million dollars (after taxes) I would buy my mother a house for 350k, myself a house for 350k and then by for uni for me and my two sisters. And if there is money left over put myself through grad school.
