I spent another hour with the guy I used to have a crush on and it felt like so good...and I'm wondering why it has to feel so good, I'm not "in love" anymore, but I can't help feeling so good with him most of the time... And I have to kinda remind myself that he's the one who didn't ever try to hear from me for the 5 months I was in Hungary, and never really asked me much about it, and doesn't really care, and behaved like a moron...etc. So Why, damn, Why? :mad;

Ahh... I haven't been sick in a long time that I forgot how sucky it feels. I keep sneezing and my nose is running and my eyes and tired and I really want to sleep. But I still have homework for my classes to do and a book to read and a video to watch. And for my own pleasure, I also want to watch Samurai Champloo. Then I have to go to work this weekend even though next week I'm going to have midterms on two subjects, both of which I'm not especially comfortable with.

Darn it, why is there so many things to do and so little time? How does Hermione live?

And goodness gracious, why have I been here so frequently lately? Need to stop wasting my time.

Medusa's random thoughts of the day:
"How many hours have I slept today? Well, that's two, plus five, minus three, compared to yesterday."
"What mischief shall I get into next? Knocking over large glasses of water always sounds purrr-fect; watching those silly, mindless humans clean it up only motivates me further."

For some reason, sub, I laughed so hard at this - how witty!
Being a slight health-nut (except when consuming coffee) and vegetarian, I could never, myself, find the 'Happy' in 'Mc.'
Have you seen the film, Super-Size Me? - one of the best films regarding this subject. :)

Helga

I saw that movie, great. The guy came here to Iceland to promote it and seemed really conserned about the subject! It was amazing how his health and spirit 'went down the toilet' .I never go to Mcdonalds. (I suspect that was the reason for the McHappy thoughts) Like mono I'm a vegetarian and don't know a thing about this but Mc and happy dosen't sound right.

Yeah, the personality traits are pretty much the extent of my likeness to Shrek. However, I have benn informed by one person that I sounded like him (hey, its better than having to constantly recite Fat B******'s lines from the second Austin Power's movie "Get in ma belly!!!" *shudder*)

Boy I’ll tell ya… Atlanta is funny though, some of the least desirable places, ten years ago, are now some of the most sought after neighborhoods in town. Mid-town, College Park, even East Point is up and coming. I think that people here are just getting fed up with the commute and all of the carnage on the hiways. So even with the Fulton County “sir-charge” (higher taxes), it’d be nice to be able to park the car and walk to work.

**"Certain limitations on the board, Vague on purpose***

Humans can only make moral judgements that are binding upon themselves. We don't have the capacity to see clearly enough that our vision encompasses others. And no one of us is infallible. And so what if a group of friends is as one entity, and in all respects 'with' each other? The earth will not crumble, the sky will not shed tears, dark clouds are not coaxed into existence by a terrorized morality. It is our own fears initializing beautiful butterflies within our stomach, it is our inner convictions tested as truth, it is our recognition of more enlightenment to come, a fresh sprout of our previously claimed enlightenment cracking through the reality, through a weak facade, that stirs gleeful learnings, stirs recognition. That 'charged-up' feeling within is the stirring of the blood, an encouraging acceptance of what we thought we truly believed was infact truly believed by us, and was not just some posturing on our own part, not some little way of fooling ourselves or others into thinking we are at peace with ourselves and the world we exist in, but was and is the truth of our own wants, a reflection our own needs, a need for the capacity to understand purely. To be needed, trusted, and loved. And to understand. Life doesn't get any better than that.

The concept of an anti-social person blogging is an interesting portrayal of just how much someone can talk to themselves because they don't expect comments to come from their blogs, just understanding from talking about it in an open medium with themselves.

Just noticed the thought while reading a year backwards into my own.

I'm always talking to myself, and laughing at myself. I often get cought but people know I'm crazy so they don't expect anything else.

A few days ago was sitting on the ground outside my house talking to my dog and my neighbour cought me, that was so weird, he stared at me like there was something wrong with a 19 year old girl sitting on the ground chatting with her dog. Well he went inside and two minuets later his girlfriend came, I actually think she was scared, she walked slowly staring at me and then she ran to the house...wonder why? ;)

Current Thoughts:
- Ever wonder why the many good things that you did went unnoticed but the one bad thing you did, no matter how insignificant, was exposed right away?
- I was born a Catholic but am not really religious, but I get offended when people attack Christianity in general. Is it me or Christians are being oppressed? It seems like they are accepted only as long as they don't talk about their faith to non-believers. Also, the attacks that come from atheists usually are directed specifically to Christians. If these atheists truly don't believe in any gods, why don't they attack other religions? The Hindu, for example, I believe have more gods they could make fun of, so why Christians? Why not Jews? Is it because they were victims during the WW II? Why not Muslims? Because they were also somewhat persecuted shortly after the 9/11 attack? So why isn't it right to attack these other religions but it's okay to attack Christians? It's not like all Christians are fundamentalists who like to force everything down everyone's throat, right? Why do people notice only the bad representation of a group but not the good ones? I'm rambling but lately this has been getting on my nerves and I need to get that out.

Dyrwen
05-04-2005, 12:00 AM
Random thought in response: It's because most atheists were Christians at one time, as far as America is concerned, so they know it best. What better to debunk than the previous religion one adhered to? They also are just about the only religion trying to get their less than popular teachings into schools or law. The "no gay marriage" thing, the "anti-evolution" debates, the whole abortion problem. A lot of things that people hold in high regard that Christianity usually opposes. No one complains at Hindus since they never prostylitize, Muslims usually keep to themselves as far as converting others, etc for other religions. For the most part, more people know about Christianity, so they debate it and argue against it. No one knows a lot about the other religions around, so the only questions those people get asked are about their religion, rather than what's wrong with their religion. It's easier to dislike what you know, than to learn something new just to dislike it. heh

Key:
On (olfactory)
Occasion (optic)
Our (oculomotor)
Trusty (trochlear)
Truck (trigeminal)

Funny (facial)
Very (vestibularcochlear)

btw, do you love the ear, too? i just found out that my brother and i have overly sensitive hearing due to our nana on dad's side - she could hear people whisper in the next room (yeah, don't tell secrets around me, lol).

we used
Oh, Oh, Oh, To Touch And Feel Very Green Veggies At Harvest :D i forget the one we used a couple of years ago, but it's in my text. something much more sterile sounding.

paper, however, is due in 8 hours (or 8 degrees, as we nurses will write in shorthand :)); it's on coming of age in mississippi: so chock full of this that and the everything else. egads! fortunately i have 387 of 400 points right now so will be hard pressed not to get an a in history. but they'd no popcorn at 7-11 just now! and there is way to much info to squeeze into 5 little pages.

so it begins (see below), though i may revise it because of a particularly telling line: "We've gotta be the ones to give [the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments] meaning...you should be bold and crazy enough to ask [Mr. Charlie] a few more questions...Like 'what am I free to do?'"

“We shall overcome/We shall overcome/We shall overcome some day-ay-ay-ay-ay” are words of conviction, as evidenced by ‘shall.’ The melody is a hymn, and this is a prayer. It is very definitely a prayer, for these words would not have to be sung ever, would not ever spring from hearts of any but persons who were deeply, formidably oppressed. Anne Moody, a junior at Tougaloo University, Mississippi in 1960, sang these words frequently with fellow classmates and SNCC activists. They were sung en masse during The March on Washington, on March 18, 1963. The lyrics of this song epitomize the struggle and determination of black people seeking to throw off their shackles (visible and invisible), in the United States of America. Anne Moody grew up in one of America’s most virulently racist state of and risked her life and freedom to help secure those very things for her fellow blacks. She was one of many heroic persons working in the Civil Rights Movement. Her autobiography, Coming of Age in Mississippi, details striking horrors and sentiments pertinent only to this time, as well as the joys and tribulations relevant to any downtrodden group and to any young person approaching adulthood.

Scheherazade
05-10-2005, 04:32 PM
..and can monkeys swim?
So it seems:

Some monkeys can swim, like Debrazza guenons Cercopithecus neglectus, Allen’s swamp monkeys Allenopithecus nigroviridis, and proboscis monkeys Nasalis larvatus. They may swim across a stream or river to avoid predators or get to food, and Allen’s swamp monkeys even "go fishing” by laying leaves or grass on top of the water, and grabbing fish that come to hide underneath.

I'd give it a try, let me know how far it goes, actually an aersol can might be too explosive, you may want to try an ordinary can of beans, I know those can fly pretty far. ohhhh, or maybe try both and chart the results...

And people in the UK sometimes refer to females as `birds' of course in a complimentary fashion :p
In my country females may be called ' a piece of fluff '.......not derogatory.

whoo-hoo! i got an 89 in kinesiology. which is wonderful, because the anatomy portion had me sweating and the physio portion recontemplating suicide! :) yay!!! (j.k. ;)) although i really wanted a 90. :(

btw, this is how our course went: skip all around the text (mind you, i came from a college where we went straight through, not in random order, and our instructors encouraged participation, homework, drawing, activities, microscopes and familiarity with plaster and preserved body parts). all horribly missing at temple uni. horrible resources. i'd no need for my lovely histology atlas, among other things, grr.
the result being that the average for our first curved physio exam (all lectures physio, all labs anatomy, with a 67/33 grade emphasis :() was a 51!!! my lab t.a. even got that score when she took the exam.

needless to say, i'm thrilled with my grade and deeply disappointed with this school's curriculum.

end of rant.

although i would advise persons considering nursing careers to go to santa rosa junior college or villanova. villanova (pennsylvania) was rated one of the top three schools in the country re: nursing, and srjc has a fantabulous labs and amazing instructors. i wish i'd remained there but as we all know, i became homesick.

Today, in gym class.
We played soccer and moved backwards and then we disappeared. Or so it seemed to others. We just felt a jolt of pain through our skull and it went black for a second and we were lying down in a steeplechase hole.
We were feeling really dizzy when going back to school and in there. And then we had to do a test in German. Not a good thing.

Now we are more-less okay. A bit dizzy but not much.

Again, this last week seemed very, very busy, in which I so badly craved spare time to sleep in, do some leisure reading, and maybe write a little bit. Once the weekend appears, I finally find the spare time, then feel bored, and crave something to occupy my time. :rage:

eheh mono....that's how life works... (ask schopenhauer ;)). On Tuesday or wednesday I'll finish to work and I know I'll feel such a void in my life...not really much spare time as I'm supposed to study as the exams are so dangerously near and I'm later than ever with the studying... but having no job anymore will leave with no excuse, I'll have no choice but studying...and then I'll start to feel useless again but have the alibi of the exams, and then July and the last exams will come and then a big question mark dressed up in a sense of useleness will cover my life :S
Or something.
