Agreed, but how to enforce it?

By organising lots and lots of demonstrations against hormones and thus forcing governments to give in?

What is fireworks' effect on environment?

This morning there was such a thick fog and smoke smell in the air that I couldn't help wondering if it was due to two days of ceaseless firework displays.

So I go on a job interview - they fly me halfway across the country. I paid for everything up front and they would reimburse me. I got the check today and they ony paid for the very basics. they didn't even pay for my airport parking or any of my meals (there was only one). What a bunch of cheap skates.

Now why would I want to go work for a company like that????? (That nd the fact that they were not prepared for my interview at all even though they set up the time) DOH! What a waste of a good day off from my current job.

Nightshade
12-11-2006, 06:15 AM
Is airport parking so expensive then??
I dont know papya other than there chronic disorganisation is it a good job maybe you can just use them as a stepping stone to bigger and better things??
Thats what they said at the caree development student confrence I went to,
"Sometimes the only way around is through"

papayahed

Airport parking is 5.50/day. the total bill they didn't pay was only $21!!!!! In comparison to the $300 for everything else... it makes no sense.

I thought I was in a dreaming land
That's not fair that's too sad
When I'm in a mood so bad
With no friend with no lad
I calling but no reply was heard
From my pals from my lad
But though the weather is bed
I will never be in a mood so sad
For though my heart is alone and sad
Seeing you make my heart so glad

I think who you need is the "Hero of Canton"...

Let me ellaborate...the hero of canton, the man they call jayne...

Jayne
The man they call Jayne
He robbed from the rich and he gave to the poor
Stood up to the Man and he gave him what for
Our love for him now ain't hard to explain
The Hero of Canton, the man they call Jayne

Now Jayne saw the Mudders' backs breaking
He saw the Mudders lament
And he saw the magistrate taking
Every dollar and leaving five cents
So he said, "You can't do that to my people"
He said "You can't crush 'em under your heel"
Jayne strapped on his hat
And in five seconds flat
Stole everything Boss Higgins had to steal

He robbed from the rich and he gave to the poor
Stood up to the Man and he gave him what for
Our love for him now ain't hard to explain
The Hero of Canton, the man they call Jayne

Random thought of the day...

Nightshade
01-06-2007, 10:36 AM
The blues never fade away....elton john ( music but since you can only read it the words are by Bernie Taupin

He wasn't famous but I sure did love him
I've got his picture in a little frame
He lost his life to a big disease before it even had a name
But there's so many more and I've lost count
The hows and whys aren't important now
All that matters is they came around
And brightened up our lives

She was twenty one with her life ahead
You don't need to know her name
She breathed her last on the cold stone floor of a Hollywood arcade
But fate's right hand isn't always just
Puts a lot of pressure on your faith and trust
She was just a little girl, ain't that enough
To rage against the day

And how did we get so lucky
Targets on the rifle range
Who makes the call and who gets to choose
Who gets to win and who gets to lose
It's like a rolling dice in the belly of the blues
And blues never fade away
Hey hey hey, colors run when the rain falls
But blues never fade away

He shone so bright with a lust for life
Like the Sun King that he was
His passions hung upon his walls and were printed onto cloth
And for reasons I never understood
About the choices made between the bad and good
I've tried to figure out why
The pain never goes away

And how did we get so lucky
Targets on the rifle range
Who makes the call and who gets to choose
Who gets to win and who gets to lose
It's like a rolling dice in the belly of the blues
And blues never fade away
Hey hey hey, colors run when the rain falls
But blues never fade away

And there's marble markers and little white crosses
Along the beaten path
And I've spread their ashes on the wind
And I miss John Lennon's laugh

And how did we get so lucky
Targets on the rifle range
Who makes the call and who gets to choose
Who gets to win and who gets to lose
It's like a rolling dice in the belly of the blues
And blues never fade away
Hey hey hey, colors run when the rain falls
But blues never fade away

he wrote the words to Your song and candle in the wind too... all my favourites:D:D I might have to check out the guys poetry

You get bad marks. It is the same class. They are the same class-fellows; the same friends, the same people, the same teachers. They don't eat you. They don't kill you. They don't shout at you.

In the school's play-ground, there are girls playing football as usual, talking and chatting to each other happily/sadly/angrily. It is the same old place.

You go back home. You see your mother greeting you the same as she always does. You eat dinner as usual. You browse the forum. You read stories. You do your bloody homework.

See, everything is same. But no! There is a difference; there in the corner of your heart, you feel a pang. And it hurts, hurts more than anything else. From the inside, you are broken but who knows it better than you especially when you are trying to hide it from most of the people.

You try to forget the pain. You try to forget the hard times. You try to get into other nice activities, which works sometimes if you are lucky enough. Other times it doesn't.

I need to buy some turtles, then, becasue I've seen an increase in the number of silverfish in my house. They are really disgusting, aren't they?

EDIT: Aww. He only had a lisp when he was old because he refused to wear dentures! Tough old guy! It was really Thomas Jefferson who had the lifelong lisp! Hahahaha! I'm laughing so hard, now! Imagining America's Founding Fathers with lisps makes me laugh hysterically. (And squeal as well! Makes me wanna hug 'em even more!)

a suggestion, Lily. See if you can find the book "Founding Brothers." Good stuff, I really enjoyed learning more about our history.

I'm glad I have a John Adams doll to take out all my squeeage on. (You should all be considered fortunate, too!) I make him walk across my desk when I need a homework break, etc. I got him in Quincy, Massachusetts, and when I was in Boston all the gift shops had George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Franklin, Abigail Adams, Revere, Martha Jefferson, etc. dolls, but they were so expense, so I could only buy one. :bawling: I wanted all of them so I could make little historical puppet plays in my room. :( My John one has a quill in his hand and letters to Abigail in the other. the Abigail doll has a quill, too and letters to John! My poor little John doll is friendless he just sits on my bookshelf all alone. :(

Uncle Sam and Honest Abe! I also quite enjoy the architectural, and technological study of this period aswell. Also the time period is very romantic, Cowboys, Indians, Yanksees, and Confederates! Indeed there are a great many things that can be studied in this period, but my preference does lie with the technological/architectural branch, but the anthropological interactions of these periods are fascinating.

What is so hard about spelling out the words "too" and "your" in text messages? Must we use numbers?

It is Basant not without
But within me is the cold
Spring, kites and youth are all about
But it's I who seems to have grown old.

Maybe this invention was made of the couch potato who doesn't need to ask why, but to know that a television and fridge in the same spot can be quite a time saver:p

Ahahahaha! My brother just called me a nerd on IM. He said, "Now don't take this too hard. You're a nerd." It's pretty obvious we don't see each other a lot just because of that comment he made about me.

I think I'm gonna start a campaign to bring back the term "dig". For example:

-That apple pie is delicious, I dig it.

We are feeling positive and enpowered again by reading a thing from an essay.
(Mari are a people that speak a relative language of Estonian, to make what we say more understandable.)

The essay gave this little comparison about what might be good in finnougrian mentality:
1914. First World War starts. Even European intelligence is carried away with exaltation of war - Freud, Wittgenstein, Schönberg and others want to fight for fatherland and support war.
In the same time, the message of the starting war reaches Mari-El, who are still mainly pagan. It reaches a sect, who were basically reformed pagans. They put their heads together and discuss and then, they put on ceremonial white clothing and then, they take all the weapons, the old flintlocks and hunting-guns and other weapons.
They dig a big hole in the ground and bury all the weapons.
