Could it be Pearl Harbour??

Maximilianus
09-05-2012, 05:55 PM
Not really. Ships in this movie are modern-day ships, although by the end there's a majestic participation by a ship that dates back to the days of WWII.

Calidore
09-05-2012, 06:37 PM
That looks like the base of the wave from The Abyss.

Maximilianus
09-05-2012, 08:15 PM
Nope, this movie is much more recent. And it is actually a base, but more of a sort of shield than of a wave. Maybe I should post another pic?

Hawkman
09-05-2012, 08:30 PM
Hi Max, long time, no speak. That looks like "Battleship" to me :D

Maximilianus
09-05-2012, 08:48 PM
Hi Hawk, welcome back to the thread!! http://smiles.kolobok.us/standart/clapping.gif

Hawkman

How about some oldies for this oldie:nopity:
Sorry :( The following shot I got isn't very oldie, though it was released in 2010 and that makes it a couple years oldie :p

Here it is:

The Young Philadelphians.

(thanks for an oldie)

Basil
09-08-2012, 08:02 PM
The Young Philadelphians.

That is also incorrect.

Hawkman
09-09-2012, 06:21 AM
LA Confidnetial?

Maximilianus
09-09-2012, 10:12 AM
I would say Cool Hand Luke.

Basil
09-09-2012, 11:47 AM
I would say Cool Hand Luke.
And that is the correct answer. Your turn.

Maximilianus
09-09-2012, 01:32 PM
From a recent Asian movie:

http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/af178/maxicastro/movie%20scenes/scene33.jpg

Hawkman
09-12-2012, 04:45 PM
I dunno, Max. It looks familiar but I just can't place it. My first thought was Mongol, but I pretty sure it isn't that one: the colour palette is wrong and so are the costumes. Can you give us a clue?

Maximilianus
09-12-2012, 09:39 PM
Korean movie whose plot is set in times of a war between two countries. In the middle of said war, the invaders kidnap a person, and two close relatives join efforts on a desperate rescue mission. Intensive action involving what is likely to be the first artillery weapon developed by mankind ;)

Hawkman
09-13-2012, 04:00 AM
Musa - The Worrior?

Maximilianus
09-13-2012, 10:00 PM
Nope, though the story seems set around the same time in the history of Korea. In the following scene the attacked people are being forcibly dragged away from their hometown into enemy territory:

http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/af178/maxicastro/movie%20scenes/scene34.jpg

And in this scene the main character is already in pursuit of his sister's kidnappers, the evil Manchurians:

http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/af178/maxicastro/movie%20scenes/scene35.jpg

I probably chose a not very known and therefore unguessable movie :(

Snowqueen
09-18-2012, 05:29 AM
Hi, I'm back!

Is it from War Of The Arrows?

Maximilianus
09-18-2012, 05:53 AM
Hi, I'm back!
Hi!

Is it from War Of The Arrows?
Yes, it is! It's your turn, Snowqueen :)

Snowqueen

Thanks Max! :) And here comes the picture.

If I'm not wrong, this is from Charmed.

Snowqueen
09-20-2012, 03:51 AM
If I'm not wrong, this is from Charmed.

Nope! Try this one as a hint.

Maximilianus
09-20-2012, 12:26 PM
Very well, I've changed my mind. Now I think it's Scream of the Banshee

Snowqueen

That looks like Sarah Jessica Parker in Hocus Pocus to me, but I have been known to be wrong :D

Sorry Hawkman you are wrong again. :D

Very well, I've changed my mind. Now I think it's Scream of the Banshee

Yes, your turn Max! :)

Maximilianus
09-21-2012, 11:05 PM
Okay, here comes a scene I had to touch a little, since the original was rather blurry:

http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/af178/maxicastro/movie%20scenes/scene36_zps76d61e65.jpg

Snowqueen
09-22-2012, 03:10 AM
Is it from King Arthur? It's just a guess.

Calidore
09-22-2012, 10:09 AM
Is that background guy Ron Perlman?

Maximilianus
09-22-2012, 10:12 AM
No, no, not King Arthur http://smiles.kolobok.us/standart/no2.gif This is a much newer and more esoteric movie. Look closer at the faces; at least one of them is not hard to make out ;)

Maximilianus
09-22-2012, 05:10 PM
Is that background guy Ron Perlman?
Yes, he is Ron Perlman!

Snowqueen
09-23-2012, 05:31 AM
It must be Season of the Witch then.

Maximilianus
09-23-2012, 10:31 AM
Yes, yes, yes! http://smiles.kolobok.us/standart/ok.gif Your turn to play, mademoiselle http://smiles.kolobok.us/personal/hi.gif

Snowqueen

Maximilianus
09-24-2012, 09:24 AM
I think it's from The Adjustment Bureau.

Snowqueen
09-25-2012, 01:22 AM
Yes, your turn. :)

Maximilianus
10-05-2012, 06:37 PM
Sorry for the delay!

Here's the new scene, in which the main character is being peeped through a hole in a door:

http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/af178/maxicastro/movie%20scenes/scene37.jpg

Snowqueen
10-09-2012, 04:01 AM
Don't you think this hole is a bit too small?

Any hints?

Maximilianus
10-11-2012, 12:33 AM
Don't you think this hole is a bit too small?
Small indeed, like most door holes that haven't been drilled with a shotgun :p

Any hints?
Saying something like his ninth would be like giving it away, so I won't say his ninth ;)

Hawkman
10-11-2012, 04:12 AM
Oh come on Max, Bethoven was a movie about a dog! (Howls of laughter at his own wittiness)

Snowqueen
10-11-2012, 05:44 AM
Saying something like his ninth would be like giving it away, so I won't say his ninth ;)

I haven't seen the movie, but it seems your hint worked. Is it Immortal Beloved? :D

Maximilianus

Hint, hint! http://smiles.kolobok.us/standart/pleasantry.gif :D

Maximilianus
10-14-2012, 11:16 PM
I'm at a loss. I'd very much appreciate some further hint http://smiles.kolobok.us/artists/laie/LaieA_053.gif

Snowqueen
10-15-2012, 03:50 AM
Movie was released in 2011 and it’s based on one of British classics.

http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv183/SheherBano5/For%20Posts/2012-10.png

It's a super hint.

Maximilianus
10-16-2012, 03:12 AM
Then, if I am not mistaken, it could be... Jane Eyre?

Snowqueen
10-17-2012, 02:18 AM
Well done Max! Your turn. :)

Maximilianus
10-18-2012, 10:04 PM

Maximilianus
10-22-2012, 09:29 PM
Sorry for the delay! Here's a new one that should be easy... provided you've seen the movie :p

Hawkman
10-23-2012, 08:16 AM
Mammoths building Pyramids, yet! It can only be 10,000 BC... & no, I haven't seen it, one clip was more than enough - LOL!!

Maximilianus
10-23-2012, 05:24 PM
It was too obvious a scene to pick, I reckon :p Your turn, Hawk!

Hawkman
10-28-2012, 11:05 AM
OK Max, Sorry for the delay. How's about this then? :D

Hawkman
10-29-2012, 11:42 AM

Am I close? :cheers2:

Maximilianus
10-29-2012, 05:26 PM
Hell yeah! http://smiles.kolobok.us/standart/ok.gif Your turn Hawk! :)

Scheherazade

I think that is "Miami Vice"... However, you need to read the rules of the game. Unless you get the movie right, you don't get a turn.

So, back to the one I had posted:

9640

Maximilianus
09-25-2015, 11:36 PM
That's from Hudson Hawk if I'm not wrong.

Scheherazade

Maximilianus
10-19-2015, 04:38 PM

Mr Brooks?

If so, I stumbled upon it on Netflix quite by accident and enjoyed it very much because of the surprises.

Maximilianus
10-19-2015, 11:31 PM
Yup, it is Mr. Brooks! http://smiles.kolobok.us/standart/yes3.gif Quite an enjoyable movie which I also found by accident just yesterday. Your turn, Scher!

Brilliant ,but I smell a a rat. It seems inconceivable that a fairly ordinary British film from the 1930s could be so easily recognized.
