I just saw it again over the weekend. I think I like it more each time I see it because I don't remember being that impressed on the first viewing but I really to like it now.

That's Muriel's Wedding, isn't it? That's definitely Toni Collette and she looks like she's dressed as Anna from ABBA and that's the movie she was obsessed with ABBA, right?

Didn't both Jack Nicholson and Ann Margaret and a few more greats attend Northwestern University, N. of Chicago, I had to pick up a senior there one time and the place really iimpressed me. The library, designed by F.L. Wright is in the shape of an open book. It was the Jack movie that threaded this in but really that school is so well endowed and lets quiite a lot of regular (i.e.not superrich) people go there on purpose to keep the socio-economic mix healthy. Interesting place. quasi

I shouldn't go without my professional mentor, a professional sportswriter and handicapper who usually keeps me from losing. We've been friends since 1974 or so but his wife just passed, quickly, unexpectedly but we are trying to bring him around. Long process. Yes, seems you are up now, quasi; congratulations! That was a hard film to find. I considered "Creepshow", although I did not see the film. My friend told me it was definitely the "Twilight Zone" - one they aired on TV as a film on HBO (?). Can't wait to tell him he was a bit off. Yes, "Shackelton" is one of my favorite miniseries. If you notice Kenneth Branagh, who plays the great man, is right smack in the center of that photo, but he is pretty much blending in with the group.

Glad you had a nice day out. It was a good weather day. Tomorrow might be hot. Yes, it would be good to get your friend out and away from brooding, it all takes time. Death is a sad thing but a part of life. So sorry. You did express that well.

Will be interested to see what you choose for a photo. I like this game so much.

It is not Shallow Grave, but it might be called a "horror" film or a "thriller" and in my opinion is pretty scary (but I'm an easy scare).

Here's a very small hint: This film was shot in black & white, as well as color.

Great channeling there!!

:) That is so close Robin, that I'll give you the cigar after all, even though it is in fact a still from "In the Mood for Love."

Wong Kar-wai directed it, and it is one of the visually most stunning films of this or any other decade. It was produced in 2000, and Wong then made a film a few years later that is a pseudo-sequel. The name of that film is (as you rightly posted) "2046," and it contains some scenes that I believe were taken from the footage shot for "In the Mood for Love."

So, your turn Robin.

THAT IS TOO EASY. Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

As for me, I'm picking something a little more obscure to torture all of you.

*feels evil*

TOP THAT! Mwahahahahaha.

And then if you can't get that one:

Even thought this one is an obscure b-movie from 1990. (I'm giving you hints, guys!) *squeals at cameo pictured above* (LOTS of hints!)

I have to start picking easier movies...a couple hints, it's French, was made in 1986 and has a sequel that was named for the hunchback character's daughter.

:0 :0 :0

I ADORE Manon des Sources! And Jean de Florette!

Okay, I'm going to give you guys hints since I feel bad for putting in obscure movies. And the pictures are pretty hard to guess which movie they're from.

First one:
Has Jodie Foster in it and is a science fiction film. Based on the book by Carl Sagan.

Second:
Uh, I already gave you guys a lot of hints for this one. Whatever. That's Mark Mothersbaugh and Jerry Casale up there. Founders of DEVO.

Good luck.

I shall continue to baffle all of you:

That is really easy to guess, though, if you're a b-movie buff. Or if you've seen the Tim Burton film Ed Wood. :D I guess I got the idea from Papaya's earlier post. And I was just watching Ed Wood again.

Man, I gave you all lots of hints.
