On a recent trip to visit relatives in Europe, I noticed something odd. Toy stores there, unlike their American counterparts, still sell props for Cowboys and Indians. Shining silver pistol sets, headdresses with painted chicken feathers, deputies' badges - they had 'em all, as stores did here in my childhood. Somehow the Wild West - as it was imagined by Hollywood producers and fiction writers like Louis L'Amour and Zane Grey - still appeals to kids there, while kids here have moved on to Pokemon, ...
