Zane Grey

Zane Grey became one of the most successful dime novelists of the early 1900s, leaving a career in dentistry to author Riders of the Purple Sage, The Lone Star Ranger and West of the Pecos among many other Western-themed novels. His action-packed frontier tales were enormously influential on film and television, and he remained a best-selling author well through the 1930s.
