Turns out the final chapter has yet to be written on Avenue Victor Hugo Bookshop.

Last fall, it seemed the story of the Back Bay bookseller had reached the epilogue: an everything-must-go sale before the doors of 339 Newbury St. closed for good.

By the end of December, the John Grisham bestsellers and Victorian-era bound sets, the old issues of Life and the Zane Grey paperbacks, the vintage postcards and the first-edition mysteries would vanish, to be replaced by a shoe store.
