The Fullness of the World. 
 
   Are you traveling 
   There by horse? By boat? 
   - 
   In storage pits below 
   Ground they keep their barley 
   - 
   A scorpion stands 
   Watch among the rocks 
   - 
   Out in the country live 
   The caretakers of a 
   Snake that guards spring waters 
   - 
   The dog thistle spreads 
   Across all the fields 
   - 
   Everything is covered by spider webs 
 
   II 
 
   Carried by smoke from an 
   Altar-fire in their streets 
   Are sweet foreign scents of 
   Myrrh they burn drop by drop 
   - 
   They weave linen robes and tunics
