Oedipus At Colonus (401 B.C.)

Background:

Oedipus at Colonus was written when Sophocles was nearly ninety years
old, produced five years after his death, and was awarded first prize. The
play has often been called Sophocles' best, but its concern with contemporary
Athens and its religious mysticism have discouraged modern adaptations.

The action of this play takes place after the events of Oedipus the king
and before those of Antigone. At the end of Oedipus the King, Oedipus blinded
