Clemson University issued the following press release:
The Clemson Players will present "The Burial at Thebes," a stirring new translation of Sophocles' "Antigone," in the Brooks Center for the Performing Arts Feb. 23-26. "The Burial at Thebes" was written by Irish Nobel Laureate Seamus Heaney.
"'The Burial at Thebes' portrays the struggle between loyalty to the state and loyalty to family and religious faith," said Alexander Harrington, director of the production. "The play packs a powerful emotional punch and gives a clear-sighted vision of the human condition."
