Three nights in a row, you sit watching people in togas droning on for hours.
If that's your image of "The Oedipus Trilogy" at the Dayton Playhouse Friday through next Sunday, April 4-6, playwright and director Tony Dallas said you're in the wrong millennium.
His goal in adapting the plays by Sophocles "was to illuminate the present" and serve "the audience at hand," not to directly translate the originals or please academics. "I've long felt there's something visceral about reading the three together. I want to bring that to the stage."
