LANESBORO, MINN.: Of the 788 people who live in Lanesboro, Minn., roughly 65 percent have Norwegian blood. This statistic, cited by Commonweal Theatre Company executive director Hal Cropp, explains why his Lanesboro theatre has made the unique (for a U.S. theatre) commitment to produce one play each season by Norway's literary son, Henrik Ibsen. Ghosts will be the centerpiece of Commonweal's annual festival of Scandinavian art and culture, Feb. 23-25.
