OSLO, Norway Divers have discovered the sunken schooner that inspired playwright Henrik Ibsen to use maritime themes in his dramas, the national news agency NTB reported Thursday.
Ibsen's grandfather, also named Henrik, was the captain and owner of the ship, which sank in 1797 with 16 people aboard.
NTB said the ship was located off Grimstad, a town where Ibsen did his first serious writing.
"The find will have a place in history because of its clear influence on the captain's grandson," said Ibsen expert Bjoern Hemmer.
