Henrik Ibsen's take on the fantastical Norse legend follows the capricious young Peer through his adventures in many lands, including a terrifying run-in with the Mountain King and his trolls. Edvard Grieg created the incidental music for the play, which includes some of the composer's most memorable tunes, such as "In the Hall of the Mountain King" and "Anitra's Dance." The NEC Youth Symphony, under Steven Karidoyanes, has scored a coup in snagging renowned master storyteller Jay O'Callahan to perform the narration for this lively 40-minute suite for orchestra and speaker.
