In Newport's bad old days, Homer might have been a part of an exotic dancer's act.

Now authorities just consider him a menace.

That being the case, it was see-you-later-alligator for Renee Brown's reptilian pet.

Renee's mother, Brenda Brown of Cincinnati, said her daughter was close to her alligator.

''She walked him on a leash. It broke her heart to get rid of him,'' Mrs. Brown said.
