A funeral service for Evelyn Homer will begin at 11:05 a.m. Thursday, at The Salvation Army Citadel, 8354 W. Foster Ave., (at Cumberland), Norridge. Her nephew, Major Roger Saltee, will officiate. Mrs. Homer died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, at St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates. Burial will be in Bluff City Cemetery, Elgin. Evelyn was born on Aug. 23, 1913, in Havana, N.D., to John and Bertha Saltee. She began attending The Salvation Army as a young child in grade school.
