Coaches and teammates call him a throwback. They say Washington Huskies fullback Paul Homer plays football the way it is meant to be played.

He rumbles for a few yards here and there, catches a pass or two for a short gain. He blocks, shoving the heaviest defenders out of the way of his tailback. He holds off speedy ends from getting to his quarterback.
