School officials and community members in Homer recently created the Homer Education Foundation, a nonprofit group aimed at financially assisting the school district.
The foundation, created in November, aims to raise and provide money for student programs, school projects and student scholarships, making them available as early as this summer.
District Superintendent Douglas Larison sat down recently with contributing writer Pureterrah Witcher to discuss the foundation, its makeup and how it will work with the district:
