LAWRENCE, Kan. - Homer Claymore became the true embodiment of a Lakota warrior battling the enemy during World War II as the pilot of a B-17. Born November 17, 1918, on the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation, the young man who had been so full of promise and was his mother's favorite child lost his life in the skies over Germany. Although his life was short he proved he was one of the brightest and best the Lakota people had to offer.
