ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 3 -- Homer E. Aguinaldo of San Diego, Robert R. Lang of Escondido, Calif., and Andrew Oldknow of Laguna Niguel, Calif., have developed an iron-type golf club head with improved perimeter weighting.

According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An iron-type golf club head includes a body having a front wall with a ball-striking surface. The body further includes a rear surface that has external rear cavity formed therein. The rear surface includes an upper portion and a lower portion.
