Homer recovers after United's seventh-inning rally

HOMER CITY -- Twice Homer-Center had a victory locked up. Twice United extended the game. A third third was just too much to ask of the Lions.

Aaron Stultz singled with the bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth inning to give Homer-Center a 12-11 win against United Tuesday at First Commonwealth Field in Homer City.

The Lions (2-5, 2-4 Heritage) scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning to tie the game at 11, and then escaped from a based- load no-out jam in the bottom of the inning to extend the game into the eighth.
