The University of the District of Columbia introduced Lee McElroy as its new athletic director at its awards banquet last night at the Quality Inn Capitol Hill.

He will replace acting UDC Athletic Director Emma Smith onJune 1.

He served as associate athletic director at the University of Houston for seven years.

Baseball: Two first-inning homers led George Mason University past the University of Maryland-Baltimore County, 6-1, yesterday at George Mason.

Ralph Schmidt hit a two-run homer, then Rod Billingsley homered for a 3-0 lead. Mike Draper won a four-hitter.
