Aw, thank you!

One thing I forgot to talk about was that the mask has one blind eye, that's why it looks half finished...I guess you can say that it has an imperfect side as well as a perfect one. :p I was feeling rather...reflective on myself. :D

And I'm sorry guys, my latest work was erased when the website froze...stupid Deviant Art! Well, I'll draw it again. ;) And it will be posted so you can see it.

Ok. So it took me a while to draw this, but It's complete...and I'm working on perfecting my skill in drawing roses, but here's my most recent.

In my opinion, it looks as a perfectly realistic rose. Even the shades seem at the right place  Now go draw white and yellow ones... immediately... I'm impatient... a lot... draw them now :p

Frankly it started out as an accident :) I stArted with an ink drawing and went over it with watercolor not knowing It wasn't water proof. I really liked how it started to look so I messed around a bit and this is the result.

Kyriakos: Are you designing a game or just like to work with pixels? I love pixel arts! :)

This is the latest drawing I have done:

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r153/Nyu001/Nyu-woman.jpg

Hi Nyu001 :)

This is not pixel art, although it looks like it. They were modelled with Bryce, a 3d modeller.

And i like your drawing a lot. :)

Nyu001
12-01-2010, 02:06 PM
Thanks.

How long take you to model a structure? (Without painting).

Kyriakos
12-01-2010, 02:11 PM
Depends on the polygon count. The most complicated ones i made in this series are the Byzantine, and those took me around 2 hours for each give or take.
But ussually i just make a model in half an hour. But i have been using Bryce for 3 years, and am quite familiar with it by now :)
Texturing them doesnt take any extra time, since i already have applied the texture before sculpting the model.

The following work was introduced in a separate Thanksgiving well wishes thread accompanied by a droll storyline, a smattering of links, a Hooters image, a Ben Franklin quote and a wonderful piece by Antonin Dvořák.
I wanted to take this opportunity to share the painting on its own merit minus the superfluous baggage of nonsense. I have also included a little on the process and materials/ tools used to create Ben and Franklin.

http://i963.photobucket.com/albums/ae114/tabuka1/Misc%20Album/BAFThanksgivingorigreduced-1.jpg

The saga of Ben and Franklin began last year with a simple graphite and charcoal sketch. Ben and Franklin represent the anthropomorphic embodiment of Tony Randall and Jack Klugman from the “Odd Couple” American TV show.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLW_K3GxCHI&feature=related

Following is a work in progress photo.
Much of the graphite layout sketch is visible. I used a relatively hard “3H” lead.
The initial foundation washes have been established on the walls, floor and shelves along with the beginnings of random detail work.

Good stuff Steph

It reminds me of something from long ago, but what exactly I can't remember

Perhaps if it 'reminds' you of something?

It will flow easier if you imagine that you're doing it from memory (old artist trick), or to be sure that you want to continue symmetrical designs, draw some random/not-so-random ideas on other sheets of paper and translate the ones you're happiest with to the actual piece

[Remember to lightly pencil sketch it in first before applying further sharpee, because white-out (can't match tone to any known paper) will cause it to lose edge if you slip up]

Thanks Welt - I guess

Thanks Beautifull - alas I'm not having sufficient time to colourize your picture , so I can recommend you download Paint.net (don't know the url but it's probably Paint.net.com [as it the WWW wasn't confusing enough] and try it out - it's sort of Photoshoplite, but FREE, so nothing to lose everything to gain)

For me I've just gotten hold of this FREE programme called Luminance HDR and although comprehensive, it's hard to master, but a couple of days and I should have it under control - it's for ABSOLUTELY perfecting your photos and optimising the pleasantness of your scene - and it's FREE!

This is the first effort:

Actually, it's http://www.getpaint.net/

I've been using it for quite a while now, doing a few experiments, though still a beginner. By the way, steph's signature pic and profile pic where done by me some time ago through Paint.Net

I'm not saying they are big pieces of art. Just a humble attempt.

Well, she is my creation. :) She is also anime(It seems to be my specialty) What's on her face and ear is just designs. (as you see, she's not your typical regular human being.) But thanks! I can't wait to see it!

A Form Poem

The Ocean

Feeling the waves crash over me,
Floating away into the shimmering water,
Boat lights showing my way to recovery,
Dolphins showing my smile and Sharks showing my darkness.

A Random Poem

The flowers bloom,
The rain lets the puppets dance,
The door never being opened,
Love being stolen and broken,
Wind blowing the hair of the beautiful woman,
Standing in the beaches of emptiness,
Forests showing the dreary words cut across the trees,
The sunlight shinning into my eyes,
A snowy wonderland being my burial,
A rainy day being my survival,
A foggy day being my birth,
And the illuminating waters flow with me,
While the Darkness takes my memories into my pit of happiness as the smile erases my face and the cello's showing that i am loved.

I hope you can! I'm confused because the images I have are stored on my computer, yet it seems I'm not allowed to post attachments because at the bottom of the page on this thread after all the posts by everyone there is a little box on the left hand side and it say this:

You may post new threads
You may post replies
You may not post attachments
You may edit your posts

I don't understand why it says that I'm not allowed to put attachments up :confused5:

From what it says on the FAQ section I understand there is to be a section on the 'advanced post' screen that lets you browse photos on your PC but it's not there on mine

Thanks to everyone offering to help :)

It has to do with term of membership and post numbers i believe. however you can upload to photobucket or something of the like, and copy the image code so it shows up directly.

Besides, this thread is definitely one of my favourites here - so many creative people!

I have started a project about the creation of a new world. So far I can only offer you two posts of theory on this world, but I plan to make a huge creative project of it...
If you are interested and/or have too much time you are cordially invited to visit my new blog (http://lhocmar.blogspot.com/) on this project (bad advertisement, I know...).

My next steps on this will be the drawing of some concept art and putting some sort of a concrete story in an acceptable form - everything is still a bit wishy-washy in my mind...

Best regards

Good one Welt - because the witless dodo has haplessly fallen in love with the hippopotamus who has one big mouth for expressing herself and so upon going to kiss the last dodo the Hippopotamus instead will inadvertently gobble up the last dodo, yes?

I especially adore the outline around the last dodo - this is to signify what is to become of it or rather what may have became of it? Skillfuly executed in the manner of Paul McCartney without shoes at Abbey Road, and perhaps giving a halo effect to denote its future plight?

This is also intriguing me - what manner of device did you incorporate for the holograms of thought balloons? Did you visit an institute of holography and utilise their equipment, or do you own your own?

weltanschauung
01-25-2011, 09:19 PM
you guessed the sexes without even asking la fontaine! how dare you!
the dodo is actually an eagle in disguise and likes to sing amy winehouse, and the hippo is from greece and likes to namedrop proust in dinner parties! (thats what la fontaine told me)

and you did NOT know that!

Not bad Mutatis - a lot of interesting textures and designs within (I'm a sucker for detail), and a Yellow Submarine (movie) feel to it (that's high praise!) and I particularly like the preponderance of red. If you want to explore digital fiddling (without messing up the original) you could try blacking the white areas in Paint - I just did and it looks cool (though I won't post it) and I copied the top right sphere, pasted it over the grey one and reversed-flipped, and rotated the colour wheel (Paint.net actually) and it looks even more stunning (imo), and dgital manipulation is valid - in fact you can get ten new designs from one as close as a couple of parameter clicks

Anyway, up to you - I like it
