Definitely the latter.
I worked very briefly in a very well payed but souless job. It really was something out of a British version of 'An American Psycho'. Everybody thinking material, and talking ****e all of the time - ALL THE TIME! I would have been very wealthy if I could have hacked it, but I jacked in, (in legendary fashion ) within a month! It was a legendary few weeks though! It's a definite short story! With a Stooges theme tune! Iggy not 'The Three...'
Anyhoo. Since we're on The Stooges and I just been reading a great article about them, and MC5 in 'Uncut':

Basil
04-27-2005, 01:02 AM
Hmmm, "rape the earth" vs. "healthy environment" . . .?
I'd answer that question, except I don't think it is a question--more of an opportunity for you to espouse your views on the environment in question form.

yes, Ramses II was a great Pharao, Taliesin. Did you know that he died at 92 years of age?? Quite an accomplishment in the 13th century! :-), considering that he ruled Egypt for over 67 years and faught many wars!

Bandini

Late - at least once a week I get the chance - and I love lazy morning holidays!
Sartre/Camus - I think that their best novels are on a par - but Sartre is the most important overall IMO.

snuggling up.....mmmmmmm
deciduous or coniferious?
Both types of plants have their respective forms of natural beauty and sublimity, but I would have to go with deciduous. As cliché as it sounds, I apologize, the changing and cycling of colors and shedding of leaves, only to grow more, and repeat the process, reminds me much of life, in essence - always in a state of flux, but usually beginning and ending in the same place. :)
Concrete or abstract?

Landline
* Ok, this Q reminds me of a funny story. I was in a bar a couple of weeks ago (What a Scotsman in a bar? surely not ;) ) and there was this guy in a suit talking on his mobile phone about stocks/shares etc, whilst he was talking the phone began to ring. Obviously he was trying to impress everyone in the bar with how important he was, I couldn't stop myself from laughing. *

German or French?
Bandini
04-30-2005, 01:43 PM
Language or place? I lived and worked in Germany for a year, and found that the stereotypes were not wholly accurate - I met some very decent people (although the sense of humour thing does have a ring of truth in some cases! Or maybe I just didn't get it.). I enjoyed my time there. Only been to France for two weeks holiday - I did love it; especially the good quality food. We were on a budget, so didn't eat out that much, but the ingredients at the markets was fantastic. Thinking about it the German people seemed friendlier than the French, but then I was a tourist in a touristy place in France, whilst in Germany I was a bit of a novelty.
Anyway, I digress! French then.

Having general knowledge about everything or knowing everything of one specific subject?
I think I'd prefer having general knowledge about everything.
same question
Probably the latter - knowing everything of one specific subject.
John Keats or Percy Bysshe Shelley?
baddad
05-03-2005, 11:38 AM
I prefer (and immodestly suppose) to know a little about a wide range of topics. Becoming a genius in one specific field seems a little bit limiting. I know a few geniuses practicing in different academic fields, but they couldn't start a simple campfire to save their lives, or fix their own cars, or sail a boat, etc.....
Easy way out: Same question: narrow field of interest with complete knowledge, or general aptitude in many areas?
