As for bread for breakfast there seam to be different habits, depending on the nationality. Brazilian standard breakfast consist of coffee with milk, bread and butter. If there is no time, they just gulp down a coffee. Eggs for breakfast are not so usual, they are served only in the better hotels with the continental breakfasts which includes cakes, fruit,yogurt and anything else one can imagine on a breakfast table.

I can't watch sports events at home for the most part (I catch nightly recaps on CBS Sports streaming), so, entertainment it is.

I live in the country, within walking distance of a section of the El Dorado National Forest, not that I ever do. I will drive to a nice park within the EDNF on occasion that's by a creek, and there are many parks within 10 miles (16 km) including the Gold Discovery site in Coloma and Henningsen Lotus Park - both on the South fork of the American River. Nearest Walmart is in the big city of Placerville about 23 miles (37 km) the way I must drive (through Coloma) to avoid debilitating driving anxiety... for most drivers it's only 13 miles (21 km) or so from my home. So park it is.

I remember buying a dog hut for my cat Babalu before adopting her. She did use the hut but wasn't so satisfied about it. Sad story about the two squirrels, but I'm sure you do everything you can to have animal harmony on your premises. But they have their instincts, it's sometimes difficult to avoid disaster.

in terms of weather, we have a mess brewing here. my driveway (and I live on a hill) is already a solid sheet of ice. today its above freezing and so everything is turned to slush, and then tomorrow starts the super cold. We also have the Walmart chain here but currently the most usual supermarkets around here are Extra or Carefour Espress, sma supermarkets for quick. purchases. In my street there is also a small gocery shop. The owners, a Spaniard, came to Brazil as a child during the Spanish Civil War. He is now much over 80, but he still enjoys sitting in his shop and doing light work while his children, Manuel and Maria, take care of the rest.
