University or straight to work
Pendragon
07-12-2006, 10:21 AM
I preferred going to the university rather than working with just a bachelor's degree.
I think we should continue this :As one who went straight to work (no degree except high school diploma), I vote for everyone to continue that education! Years in a factory put a ton of muscel on my frame, but it also triggered the genetic timebomb in my brain by overloading me with too much stress! I got a degree later, but by then the damage was irreversible. I am far from "unable" but classified as "disabled".

divorce or stay together for the kids?
Virgil
07-13-2006, 12:04 AM
Unless there is violence involved, I believe for the most part that people are required to stay together for the kids.
This is a good one. Same option: divorce or stay together for the kids?
Shakira
07-13-2006, 05:36 AM
People who "stay together for kids" dont know what impact their fights have on their kids. Its better to tell your kids once & for all that you are separating rather than torturing them everyday.
Same ques - divorce or stay together for the kids?
RobinHood3000
07-13-2006, 06:27 AM
A friend of mine's parents don't love each other, but are staying together for the kids. It's not doing them any good, I'm sorry to say.
Same question.
WhimsySA
07-13-2006, 11:39 AM
Divorce, because there can't be anything worse than having parents who quarrel all the time. Depending on how old the children are they can (I imagine) experience different emotions that will upset them terribly (if their parents are staying together) e.g. very young children would be confused & because of all the anxiety around the house thay will become very anxious, which can make them stop eating & become very naughty. Also the kids may become aware of the fact that their parents are only staying together because of them & will think that the whole situation is their fault. Very tragic if you ask me.
Same Q
literaturerocks
07-13-2006, 11:47 AM
divorce because if you stay together with someone you dont love then it will have a great impact on your psychologcial state of mind. you will not be happy and will be deprived of opening up new horizons in your love life. also the constant disagreements and fighting are never good for the kids. imagine explaining to your son/daughter how you dont love your spouse but are staying together. you will pass on a vicious cycle. even though a kid might have to uproot his/her life every now and then to go see the other parent(whom they are not living with) it is still better for their devolpment as human beings not to be exposed to such quarreling as if you were to stay together at a young age. (assuming they are young because if they were older it would be much easier for them to understand and you could get a divorce more easily). thats just my personal opinion.
