Act III, Scene i

Plot summary.

The scene takes place in the palace of the king of Scotland at Forres. As
we learned in the last act, Macbeth is now king. Banquo enters and speaks a
soliloquy. As though he is talking to Macbeth, he says, "Thou hast it now,
King, Cawdor, Glamis, all / As the weird women promised. . . . "That is, you
now have all the titles promised you by the Witches. And Banquo goes on to say
that Macbeth attained ...
