Act IV: Scene 1
Act IV is the shortest act of the play. The first scene opens at the
rebel camp near Shrewsbury, and things are happening very rapidly. Hotspur and
Douglas, who are very much alike, are conversing, and Hotspur compliments
Douglas by remarking that "not a soldier of this season's stamp" goes so
"general current through the world," using once more his warcoinage metaphor.
