SAINT AUGUSTINE, Fla.(Army News Service, July 2, 1998)-On his 28th birthday, Florida National Guard 1st Lt. Jeffrey Glass flew into hell.

He was a newly certified UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter pilot and, suddenly, he was flying 660-gallon buckets of water at treetop level into an inferno of a wildfire in the northeastern corner of Florida.
