Preface
Augustine was among the more prolific of the great writers. I have
selected the most important of his many works. The Confessions is the literary
masterpiece that recounts the dramatic and exciting story of a human soul in
search of God. Obviously, no summary could approximate the literary excellence
of the original work. However, I have attempted to capture some of the emotion
and sincerity of Augustine in the summation.
