CORRECTION: In my Jan. 8 column ("An Evening with Robert Burns"), I wrote that the Scottish poet "died 200 years ago this month." That is incorrect; Burns died July 21, 1796. The English-Speaking Union event on Jan. 24 will celebrate the 238th anniversary of Robert Burns' birth in 1759. (1/10/97)
