It does exactly what it says on the tin. Eleven songs by, or associated with, the Scots poet, given the fullest, fattest treatment you can imagine by Reader and her co-musical directors, John "Rusby" McCusker and Boo "The Bible" Hewerdine, plus a phalanx of top acoustic musos and an orchestra. I'm not sure that I comprehend it all, being a Son of Longshanks, but Reader pretty much subordinates her personal muse to the draft of history and grasps such big tunes as "John Anderson My Jo" with an iron and faithful grip.
